I had to have my dog put to sleep tonight. I have had her for 14 years. I will truly miss her. Rest well Sandy.

We had one for about 15 years. It had arthritis and was deaf. Too deaf, in fact, to get out of the way of the closing garage door, so we put her down too.

I am sorry to hear about you loosing your best friend. I once read a quote from a very smart person who said " God created dogs to show humans how He expects us to live." I have 3 and they are truly my bert friends. They are always glad to see me when I get home, they always accept me, they are honest, they're not pretenious, they don't hold a grudge, and their love is without condition or limits.

My wife complains that I never give her the attention I give my dogs and I tell her that if she came running to me with her tail wagging and acted half as happy to see me as Lucy, Joe and Sam do every day. Then she'd have a valid complaint.

You'll miss her but enjoy the memories and you will find another dog that will make room in their regal existence for you, a lowly human with all your faults.

Bert

Thanks guys. It just seems so quiet here. I guess 14 years of being greeted everyday with happy barks and now nothing at all will take some getting use to.

Chad, when are you coming down? I'm sure I can gather up a few people. Just let me know.

Sorry to hear Don. Although I'm not a true dog person, any pet you bond with leaves an empty feeling when they are gone.

Don, now your talking my language in that at 1 time, I had up to 6 cats that I owned and 2 that I fed since I felt sorry for strays that just wanted something to eat. I'm down to 3 due to sickness, road hazard, and one drown in out pool. In the 22 years I've had a pool, this was the first pet to drown and it sucked *****. All the cats I got off my mail route that were strays and I had them fixed per Bob Barker's instructions Is the new litten any certain breed? If you get a chance, check out www.backwoodszoocrew.com they sell maine coon cats that are the largest domestic cats and some are as large as 25 pounds for the mail and it's not fat, just a damn big cat.

I'm sorry to hear that bro, Losing a pet is just as hurtful as losing an important family member, especially because they are one.
