Its $3.16 for premium near the Crossings Trailer Park in West Kendall...
You have got to watch one of Mel Gibsons early movies as Mad Max... those ****** used to car jack each other for gas... I believe that it will come to just that.

Two words....car pool. We take turns giving each other rides in our cars. Sounds like fun to me. Last tank was $2.95 for my Turbo and $2.49 for the Vert here in Raleigh. If it keeps up I'll have to fix my Accord and put it back on the road. That would suck.

Guess what Osama and his buddies are thinking about now after Katrina? Wanna bring the Great Satan to its knees? Blow up a gas pipeline or take out one of the few refineries we have in this country. We're at war remember and we can't even secure our own borders, think we can protect several thousand miles of pipelines?

i think its time to convert to EV's ........over 100 years of the same technology....this is rediculous....had the auto manufacturers and oil companies made a concerted effort 15 years ago to actually instill a conversion plan and stuck to it, we would not be so dependent on oil. But no....we are still at the mercy of button pushers with hidden agendas that exclude the progress of relieving ourselves from this "Addiction".....and to add insult to injury...our nations mass transit sytems remain exclusive to densely poulated areas....it all boils down to keeping jobs and making money.....and they know theres no where near as much money to be made on electricity......i for one would be thrilled to see an affordable electric sports car (mass produced) to take the place of the barbaric S.U.V. craze that has middle aged women with low estrogen levels and their helpless husbands who were forced to buy "it or a minivan"...to help strengthen our dependancy even further. its only a matter of time till all the gas hogs waist our precious petrol and our loved ones(RX'S) are forced from the streets and into storage......to be rendered useless...never to hummmmmm again

or worse...forced to run on poop and dead kittens........

You forget that most of the electricity produced is from coal plants. Everybody jumps on that it's great to have an electric car bandwagon but pretty soon all these tree huggers are going to realize that it takes burning coal to make electric stuff work. Next thing you know they'll be back out in front of my plant complaining about all the pollution we're putting out. Oh yeah and then electric rates would sky rocket too. Everything is a trade off, maybe something needs to come out of those hydrogen powered cars. I haven't heard much about them lately...

Not that I'm happy with the gas prices, I'm just offering another perspective on our options/problems.

true...but there in lies evidence of the problem again.....nuclear power is nice.
i dont hug trees....but i know a problem when i see it. Solar energy....wind...hydro-electricity....Geo-thermal freekin convection!!!......c'mon now....throw me a bone!!...im trying to save the world here!!!!.....magnets are your friend.

i understand we cant expect to extinguish our need for fossil fuels completely....but im confident that less fuel is necessary to create electricity that can power automobiles than vehicles that run directly from it.

Rotaries run good on hydrogen. It's the only thing that makes me feel better when I freak out about the gas thing and the future of RX7s.

Believe me I feel your pain. But consider the following:

Everybody is scared of nuclear power still because of 3MI. TVA stopped building two nuclear plants after that. I think it is a good way to go but the nuclear regulatory committee (NRC) has gone crazy with procedures and redundant systems, so much that it drives the production cost through the roof. Basically it's like having a procedure and a partner to go take a ****. We always say at work, us coal power plants make the money that the nuc plants spend.

As far as solar power goes, I stayed in a bed and breakfast in Hawaii and all they used was solar power. Of course they don't have the weather we do but it still was amazing that they could run off just solar power. I think it would be a good idea to supplement power with solar energy but that still leaves us finding another way to power our cars... The price of solar panels is high still so that scares off a lot of people too.

Wind power, TVA just put up a bunch of wind mills. I haven't heard that much about them but I know we've got some somewhere... Unfortunately wind and hydro make up a very small portion of the electricity produced. Every little bit helps but there's just not that much to be made from wind and water.
