I think everyone has given up on MRCCFL as noone is able to post to the email list and nobody is able to gain control of the club from it's current reign holder to reorganize it.
Such a shame.
Such a shame.

i tried a couple of emails again last week before i went out of town and there has been no response. i tried the website emails that i could find(that's where i found your name a few months ago christi) and that publicist email for mcdonald/savage.
isn't there a way to contact the Mazda Rotary Car Club, as in a general national club that all these state clubs belong to?
just change the name around some and start it back up.
it's kind of stupid for EVERYONE to be bitching and not just get rid of the problem.
i actually have been thinking about a sports/race car club myself, but, i work on the road most of the week. but, i guess i could always get one going and then try and find someone to handle it when i'm gone. i really like my rx-7, but, there are some nice cars out there that would all fit in a good club together.

I founded the new Miami RX7 Club... we have had 4 successful RX7 Meets and the first one took place at my shop ZONDERVAN RX7. I manufacture the only Lambo Vertical Door kit for the 2nd Gen RX7.
I hope to make this club very successful and be able to use the various sponsors that offer some really great discounts to all of its members.

Soooooooo out of the blue I decide to google "MRCCFL". I was an avid member of this organization. I participated in road rallies, learned a crap load from this group list. So this is where I end up after googling MRCCFL. Anyone know what finally ended up happening as it is now halfway through 2007?
P.S. Talk about bringing up a thread out of the dead ay? lol

I think I do remember you. My partner and I won first place in that road rally. In fact I'm staring at the plaque on the wall right now. So was it Ian that stole the money?

Hows it going guys!? its me Joe Castleberry, I wish someone would at least start the rallies again, they were pretty fun. It seems that florida is succesfully divided into regional clubs( So fla, Jax, orlando RX7 clubs etc) so I don't know if there is a need for a BIG club anymore, but it would be nice to get the different regions together once in a while.... are there more people here that used to be in the MRCCFL?

Im still around. Think im one of the few that still use this forum. I check in with Ron and Ken from time to time via phone calls. But other than that i think majority have just moved on.

I have since started (and finish up next March) college. I have had to sell all my "toys" which includes the rx-7 so that I can afford school. It's ok though, I will definately have another one when I'm all set in my career.

Hate to bring up a dead thread yet again but I talked to Jon Fitz this morning and it kinda brought back MRCCFL memories. Thought I'd look into it and see if the club ever survived. Unfortunately it looks like it hasn't.
I'm still in my 10AE, although I'm in Memphis, TN now and run www.v8rx7forum.com

Mrccfl??
Holy Crap, how did I miss this thread?? I sent a message to Jon F today!
I still have my MRCCFL card as one of the founding members and as far as I know the club died with me being the region rep. LOL.
The MRCCFL was an awesome idea that was great for a while. Met a whole bunch of new guys and the meets were great! I won't get into the whole "scandal" that occurred or didn't occur depending on who you talk to.
What I remember was a unified state club that brought many of us together. Tom still has a sticker on his car. I sold my car but have a sticker on my tool box. Serves as a reminder of good times and good friends.
Meets at Jax, Gainesville, Tampa, Orlando, and even the big South FL one. As far as I was concerned...my money was well spent in the club.

Woo!
Nice to see all of you still lurking around out there.
Im still in the same house with the huge garage where we held a couple of the BBQs.
Went to the Deals Gap run this year with EvilAviator in the 1st gen race car. There is a clip on youtube. (Search spinracing)
Have not done much club or events wise.
Drove the race car to work tonight just because. And yes I have a MRCCFL sticker on the quarter window
I still have 4 day weekends, and may just have to get off my *** and drive the 1st gen to some of the events in O-Town etc. (As its the closest functioning club to Tampabay)
I will be going to the next Deals Gap event. I will either have the 1st Gen once again, or I may (time and money allowing) bring the EP 2nd gen.
Nice to see everyone still around. Miss everyone.

Back from the dead yet again. Good to read that all you hooligans are still around. I'm still in the same house, just more 1st gens and one less RX-4. My twins are graduating from HS in 14 days. I know because I'm counting those days.
Wonder what Alan bought with the money. I hope he feels good about his MRCCFL experience. I know I feel very good about my time with the club. From Dale, Scott, Nick, Sergio and Gil in my early days to Jerry, John, Jon, Eddie, DW, and who was that other guy? Just kidding Jack. The experience was and still is one of the most positive of my life (obviously I don't have much of one). I can't believe how many diverse people I met from one end of the state to the other. Most of these people would never have even talked to each other but for a common interest in Felix's little round motor.
When are we having SW Fla Rotorfest reunion.
The rccfl yahoo group is still there if anyone cares. Ken is the owner. I'll put some old pictures up in the photo section. Here's a couple from the Gator Nationals.

Funny how we followed a con-man. Oh well, you live and you learn, right?
Good to hear from you again Ron! You and Ken were always the two crazy ones I liked to hang around with.
I just got in last night from a road trip to Indy for a V8 RX-7 event. We went to the Winged Warriors event where we weren't allowed to participate, but they did let us make some passes down the strip. Every V8 RX-7 that made a pass was faster than the Winged Warriors cars
When we got to the event, the Supra guys hadn't shown up yet and the RX-7 parking was way out in left field. Since the Supra parking was right at the staging lights we decided to reassign the parking areas - see the attached picture
Thinking about building a Lotus 7 or a nice PP 1st gen if I can find a soid chassis.
EDIT: HAHA... I just looked at your pictures - who's that goofy bastard on the left in the first one?! LOL

Hey guys!! I'm still alive and well, still lurking on here. Just happened to do the search my name thing and ran across this awesome blast from the past.
I'm currently up in lovely Nebraska, which is lovely except for the lack of warm weather and the lack of an ocean. Oh well, I volunteered so I have to go where they send me.
Good to see everyone is still doing well, I sure miss all you hooligans and Florida too.
My car is doing well, still rotary powered and becoming more and more of a track toy. I managed to kill a set of HT-10 pads through the front brakes this year and crack a rotor, so time for some more cooling mods. Also managed to explode part of third gear off going down a straightaway in the middle of the RPM range, chalk that up to a 200k mile transmission. So it's on jackstands right now awaiting a replacement.
Anyway, here's a few pics of the car recently, I really miss the old cruises, the good people, and the warm weather. You all take care, it's a small world so I'm sure I'll see some of you again.
Most of you probably never saw the "new" paint, new as of Dec '03
I finally caved and went single turbo after the twins cooked
JDM Oil Catch Can
Those grasshoppers at the track never saw it coming at 120mph!

Funny to see some old time MRCCFL people posting. Some of the best times in my 7 were with the MRCCFL guys.
Whatever money I put into it was far worth all the things we did as a group.
