Out of state registration woe's
Hey guys, I'm in a rather unique situation regarding registering an FC, and I figured i'd ask you guys for advice...Here's the story:
I'm down in Orlando visiting friends and family. I will be down here for awhile. However, I'm about to pickup another Turbo II FC, and I'm not sure exactly how to handle the registration/plate/title in my situation.
I am originally from FL, but ive had a NC license for a few years now. I am about to buy an FC down here in FL, but my issue is, okay..what about how to get a plate for it.
I cant get a florida plate because my out of state license..and changing my license over isnt an option.
So after I purchase the car down here, I will have a Florida title for it, my NC license, and no way to get a plate in FL. The NC DMV allows registration through mail, where I would just mail in the title to the DMV in Raleigh, with the fees and paperwork. but that would take a fair amount of time, and I have no idea if they would even mail the title/plate/registration to me down here in FL. The other snag with that is I wont be able to legally drive the car down here until that happens. (plus I have to send a money order in, and if I don't have the exact amount owed, that could cause problems/delays.)
So heres what i was thinking...lets say i take the title and all paperwork, and mail that to my friend up in NC, and then said friend takes the title with my signature and money I send him through western union, to the DMV. Would they issue a plate to him in my name if I am not present? (then I could have him mail plate and title back same day)
Anyone have any ideas/guidance? Appreciate it

Do you live in florida here full time or part time?
Have you thought about getting a temp tag, insuring it for the day and then driving back the car to NC and getting it registered there?
However if you live and work in florida, then you should get a florida drivers license. Your using our roads and infrastructure, earning a living here, and you're trying to circumvent the system by getting a NC tag prob because its cheaper to insure and register?
