Thumbs down Lopez Racing Sucks ***

Lopez Racing in Miami by Alex Lopez, not Carlos Lopez,
Talk about the worse mechanic ever, this is definately someone you do NOT want to have working under your hood. This man is a thief and a fraud, and i (along with several others) are class action sewing his *** for literally destroying my 93 RX7, and using old parts, and original parts like apex seals ect that we paid for, avoid this shop like that fat girl you kissed in 6th grade!!!!

its funny you mention alex lopez cause he once did something in front of me while i was purchasing a lower intake manifold or a weber 48ida back in the day . this is what he did. 1st he had a 12a short block laying on the floor and i hear someone say "ya he's coming to get the engine but he wanted the intake holes on the side plates ported " so alex takes out a dremel and says" he wants them ported ok" so he proceeds to grind away at the intake holes creating metal debris which mind you is all falling inside the engine. once he's done he gets some wd40 spays it in the intake holes to clean the debris washing it inside the block . then he spins it a few times to sort of clean it out. then some poor chump came later on that day and bought that engine . wouldnt all that metal thats grinded off of an engine have some sort of bad effect on seals and compression ? what was he thinkin. anyway i only went by his shop for parts only . ive seen him do other questionable stuff but since he wasnt my mechanic i didnt care. good ol alex

I've never taken my car to Alex Lopez but many of my friends have and they all recomend me to him. Also many other rotary guys recomend me to Lopez whenever I run into them on the street. I take my car to

Service Auto
7023 S.W. 46th ST
Miami, FL 33155

They don't do any aftermarket ordering or instalations but the machanic there is really good at working on rotarys.

dont get me wrong. i love alex , ive know him for like 8 years and ive purchased tons of stuff from him . he mad me laugh and traumatized me at the same time seeing him port an assembled engine that is fragile to the smallest debris. ive seen him in action tuning and building and he is good. he just messed it with that one time and thats all it takes .

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK guys i can only talk about the truth of my experiance and not add or make anything up of what am about to say. lets start with charlie from auto teck i know him personally and if he reads this he knows what am talking about. he rebuilt my 93 rx7 engine he took about 5 months to finish it and did not only do a low compresion motor but installed old parts in my engine when i paid him for new parts the car ran like crap and it never had good power.it was not long when my engine died later to know he was a student from the so called rotor guru that has the num 1 record of blowing engines. why? because alex lopez killed 3 of my engines in a matter of a year and never finished the job right he does not know how to tune microtech and does not know how to use his $75.000.000 dyno. i am a living proof of this and it has to stop he also experiments with other apex seals that were not original from mazda thats why he destroyed the second rebuild on the dyno which he confest after i asked him what went wrong. after rebuilding it again for the third time he wanted me to pay him $300.00 for the dyno run which he did not finish and was horrible which i did not agree unltill it was done completely he then WHENT MAD TOOK ME FOR A TEST DRIVE THAT FURIOUSLY DROVE MY CAR TO THE MAX UNTILL HE DESTROYD IT AGAIN AND WHAT EVEN IS WORSE HE ADMITED TO IT BECAUSE HE SAYS NO BODY APRECIATES HES WORK.DOES THIS MAKE ANY SENCE AFTER SPENDING OVER $7000.OO DOLLARS WITH THIS LOPEZ RACING ALL OF YOU SHOULD KNOW HE IS THE WORSE OF THE WORSE AND NO ONE SHOULD GO THRU THIS AGAIN AND I WILL MAKE SURE EVERYBODY KNOWS ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FALLOWERS THANKS A LOT GUYS.ROGER

im my personal expierience with rotary shops some will reuse good (used )apex seals ,even if youve paid for new ones . ive seen that in many many shops . if you are going to have an engine rebuilt with new apex seal then may i suggest when its time for the internals to go in for you to try and be there personally. one example of a person who i saw do this was Switche .forgot his real name , anyway we were at his shop he was installing my 48weber IDA . he stopped workin on my car and went to measure some seals he had in a folgers coffee can , took out the micrometer and started measuring the seals while telling me that the seals were for a client who paid for NEW seals . this made me sick to my stomach . then he told me he was going to use the new seals from mazda and put them on his race car . in my mind i couldnt understand why he would do that . but he had good parts laying around so i would always go by and hang out . so if you pay for NEW stuff you should get new stuff but some people cut corners to make a profit . i even knew a mechanic at pettit who did the same . so you never know who will do this to you .im sorry to hear about your car and the 3 rebuilds . i know everytime ive had new internals installed i was there with my mechanic putting them in .

My experience

I will have to say that MY experience with Alex Lopez has been great. Ive known him about a few years now, and finally got my turboII built by him. I know alot of his customers and from the word on the street i beleive Alex builds the best motors in Miami. I hear of people that go to Pettit and other shops and have blown about 4 motors in 2 years, and each motor costing about 4 grand or more. About him not knowing what he is doing on the dyno, i cannot agree, for he dyno tuned my car and it is now making 301.7 h.p on the 100% stock engine. My car is very fuking reliable now and very fuking fast. I am not saying anything of your bad encounter with him, but My experience and the experience of his other many customers i know have been great. I plan on continuing going to Alex lopez for all my rotary needs. The baddest rotaries ive seen in Miami come form Alex Lopez.

Lopez Racing Fraudulent Dickmonkey

Alex Lopez also likes to take credit for tuning peoples vehicles when he didnt. I know a guy "Paul" who has a 1st gen with 437 WHP, admits that you didnt tune it, and you like to admit that you did tune it. It was actually the guy from microtech that tuned it in your shop when here was here from Tennessee. Sounds like a bunch of BS, luckily for him, that the guy was there cause Alex was attempting to learn the dyno, and using us as guinea pigs, if you wanna learn, thats cool, but use your Boty or ***** whatever your lil grocery getter is called, we all know you stabbed some old lady in the neck in hialeah for that car. So just come out of your shell and tell the truth.

i was doing a search on google to find out if anyone else has had problems with Lopez Racing, and i just bumped into this thread. I prefer to remain annonymous cause i dont really think Alex is a dick or anything, but i will say that when i was at his shop i saw some **** that i couldnt believe with my own two eyes. I have heard very good things from lopez racing, and their numbers are impressive, but i got the impression when i was there that they care more about their cars than for the customers, and i saw people from lopez racing swapping parts from customers engine with their own ,which to me is unacceptable. I heard one guy saying "take it from that engine, that dumbass wont know its missing", although it was in spanish , thats the pretty much the translation. So, as for what happened to a few people online here, i cant vouch for you cause i dont know you, but most definately i just wanted to let my voice be heard.

so you dont consider a engine rebuilt in a month slow? i guess you have other cars to get around with but what happens when other people depend on that vehicle like there only way of transportation? a month without a car to get to work or anything whould be crazzy. at the time i only had my 3 gen and a bmw that my wife drove to work. i actually had to buy a old 89 honda accond to get around because alex was taking so long and i wasent the only one maibe you saw a black 3 gen that was also there even before me lets say the car from begining to end was there for almost 2 years and on top of that the guy keeps briging the car back to alex because there is always something wrong with it. the last time i was in the shop before my big problem with alex the black rx7 was taken to alex again and he got so frustrated with the car that he just took it to his house and left it there untill he felt like messing with it . again he courent fix the problem. to this day i dont even know if the car is still at his house and the guy that owns the car has spent like $15.000 or more i hope he comes out as well and tells everybothe how long he has been waiting and all the problems he has had. that guy told alex i want the fastest rx7 in miami so far all ive seen is that its been the longuest most frustrating reapair of his life overall i wish the guy good luck because i spoke to him a few times and he semed like a nice guy.later my friends.Roger.

EVERYONE has a right to speak their mind on their own expieriences and you shouldnt get mad or call him childish . if you are mature enough then you shouldn't laugh at him for the trouble he has endured with alex lopez. have you had your engine fully rebuilt by Alex? if so let us know what (+) feedback you can share instead of sounding like a bunch of 4th graders .
