and not to a good start i guess, they just called me up saying that the add coolant light came up

motor is not blown....runs strong, never had a problem, gauge never went over 1/4 when i had installed the koyo radiator

they were telling me over the fone that the radiator is getting hot, overflow resiovoir was filling up

the only thing i can think of is if the belt that a/c belt was slipping from the rain

hmmmm

No worries Chris, the car is in good hands... the scare was just that, I'll be performing a chamagne test to be safe but all seems well. The causes were a very loose waterpump belt and pure water in the radiator instead of a 50/50 mix of antifreeze/water. The engine bay was still quite dry, even after it began raining, after taking care of both of those little issues the temp went down lower and stayed down the entire way home. We were driving cautiously none the less to be safe but once back in town we gave it a couple 6500rpm romps to make sure everything was smooth, to which it was. I'm concerned about the accuracy of some of the things you told me but it doesnt really matter too much either way as the car will pretty much be stripped and built back up.

Your plate is in the mail, sent you a PM concerning this.

The car is resting in our barn for now, next to my friend's 5.0 Mustang 'vert and two older rotary brothers. The top and entire interior should be removed by this weekend. Once I have all the insulation, fiberglass and rust gone I'll weld in new 1/16" steel and POR15 it for protection. I'll also be stitch welding the bracing in that area for extra strength. The trunk is still stuck shut but I can *kinda* reach the latch from under the top. This will be replaced with another used one and hopefully we'll get the interior floorpan and trunk painted yellow to match the exterior. Once the we get the new top we'll move on to the engine bay, then suspension... oh what fun a new project always is.

A documentry with many pics will follow in the 2nd gen forums, the goal for completion is the end of December. As my fiancee' put it, "The year of the 7 starts in '07."
