New RX7 in Cherry Point, NC.

Whats Im coming this summer to Cherry Point, NC for instructor duty there and wondering what are the smog restrictions there. Im coming from SD, Cali. Anyone know the nearest shops that work on RX7? I drive a 87 turbo 2.

No restrictions. Your leaving heavy controls to almost none. There is an RX-7 club at Lejeune. Meet on Fridays in Jacksonville.

yeah, almost no restrictions. THere are a few but its pretty laxed around here. when i got mine inspected he checked my blinkers and my brake lights and i was out. THey are supposed to do a visual inspection to make sure you have some sort of cat but ive never seen a place do that. Must be nice from where you are coming from!

If you register here you will have to get the NC state "safety inspection." But they only check emissions for OBD-II cars. They just do a visual check on our cars, but you can find a shop to pass you for an extra ten bucks if you know what I mean. My cars are registered in TN, **** North Carolina.

We all know places but we are not calling them out on this forum. Get in town and we will hook you up.

I believe TN has more outhouses that NC. Oh, and cross eyed cousins

That's cool, they also have mountains with curvy roads, haven't seen any of those on the coast. Besides, I'm originally from Michigan.

Sweet I will definately keep in touch with all this so when I get there this summer I can handle all this stuff and start adding on all the stuff to the & cause all i have right now is a Greppy Type-RS BOV on it. Other then that its bone stock and has only 68,000 maybe a lil less original miles on it. Im originally from Chicago and the original owner was from Gurnee, Ill.

Wow what's in the water around here? Jason your sellin, Mike it seems has sold. Mike who bought your car? I hope someone local?
there is a new shop in Morehead, but I can't say anything about there work. They do ricers, but have at least Three FD3's in the shop. I checked the other day for a web page, but nothing yet. It's called Kamakazi Motorsports. I stopped to talk to one of the owers a couple of weeks ago. His name is Vance and he seemed pretty cool.

Jason you were suppose to let me know when you got up here to CP. We need to get to gather and have a beer or two!

Car will be getting a make over once I get back home from Iraq and transfer to Cherry Point. Car has been always garage kept, original paint job. Only about 67,000 original miles.
