Well, back in the end of '04, I got home to my FD...it was bought for me (with my money) while I was off serving our country. I drove it home, and loved it from the first moment...except for the automatic trans. Anyway, here we are, nearly 2 yrs later...and of course, my car now has a v8...but this thread isn't about my car and my adventures!

This thread is to just share with everyone that my g/f and I just picked up another FD that will eventually end up being her car. The motor is dead, back rotor is completely gone...but she's planning on a v8 swap anyway. But that's a few months down the road when she/we have the money to start it. In the mean time, I plan to get the car running as a stock TT and just drive it.

So, I just wanted to share with everyone that she will hopefully be joining the forum soon and hopefully both of us will become more active. Don't worry SC and NC crews, you'll get to see the beauty when she's back on the road.

'94 White touring model with tan leather seats, glass sun roof, 5 spd trans, and no spoiler. 150k on the odometer...

 

That car wont be a beauty, with a V8, its a disgrace.

Instead: sell the motor as is, to ME for $300 bucks, and save your money for the V8 swap.

yah it is a sweet v8 conversion, looks very clean but not digging the spoiler, but thats just my opinion. Did you ever get the tranny leak fixed?

hell yea, v8 rx7's are great nice to have another one in the area!

 

ye they are great espacially whe you get pulled over in one for street racing and get away with it. And then later come to find out the cops where just curious what the hell it was.

as for the trans problem, i'm thinking the driveshaft is a bit short...so i'm going to a local shop when i have money and seeing about a longer one, then hope that fixes the problem (after once again replacing the rear seal)

minda/lisa...just let me know when u plan to start the swap...which turbo did u go with? GT35??? Single turbo system's are simplier than twins...though renee's motor will stay TT until i claim it for my FC in the future...(yeah, I technically own 2 FC...one NA rotary, one without a motor i'm trading for a convertible, and my v8 FD...this note is for those following the thread and dont know me...) Also, when you doing the swap on the FB (SA?)??

right now I got a T04B that masin is letting me use until I get some money together and get a biger one I was gona jump on a GT45S but after short consideration I thouth it would be just a slight overkill. We will be doing the single as soon as I can get everything together all the miscelanious crap and after that I will swap the motor out of the FB into SA that way I have two cars to drive.

 

Im going v8 as well. What v8 do yo uhave in it? Some pics would be awesome.

 

hey, i have an LT1 from a 95 camaro (2 bolt main) and i'm slowly building a 383 LT1 from a 94 corvette (4 bolt main)...we are going to probably do an LS1 in my g/f's car eventually...

hey, sorry for the delay in getting these...it took a few days longer because i was being an idiot. anyway, to update...i sold my white FC to zak in charlotte, we swapped his running s5 motor into it and he drove it home that night (pulled to motors, dropped one back in and got it running! i was happy) so now i have more money towards the white FD's resurrection. and patiently awaiting money this coming month, so hopefully it can get back on the road soon!

also, just throw this out there...zak and marshall are planning on making it up to asheville, oct 14th. I would like to invite anyone else to come join us. i plan to call a few of the local 7 guys who i dont think are on the forums much to come too. Hopefully we can have a "mini-meet" and just hit a few local roads up here (might go as far as Ceasar's Head) i would say we rally up and hit the drive by 2 pm at the latest on saturday...and go from there.

why would you need the FD??? dont you reamember the turbos are shot on it I am trying to get some last peaces ofr the swap together the only things I am lacking is the intercooler secondary injectors 1300cc block off plates and the puley kit that eliminates the air pump and I should be ready to go then lets hope.

 

oh yeah....i like to think that we live in a magical land that we only replace parts because we want more power, not because the parts die on us... but hey, good luck with collecting those...

anyway, whats the deal with the SA/FB swapping?? when do i get to come visit and help?!?!?

 

well I got the suspension done on it and the thing is a beast I will swap the motor out of it as soon as I get the FD parts and get it fixed that way i have two cars to drive while the FD is down.

 

ok, just let me know when man....of course i dont have to limit myself to just visiting to do work! hahaha
