New Miami FD owner

Wassup all...I just picked up my dream FD. Chaste White on Black leather, 5 spd. Completely stock, except for radio and front strut bar. Body and interior is in
great shape but I've got 3rd gear grinding, rear end sound like it is about
to come off, and engine has 117K miles on it.

I've got it over to Charlie Maldonado to try to take care of the tranny and suspension. Since he's got the bottom all loose anyway, I probably will get a downpipe installed also.

Any one have any ideas as to what is the best way to take care of the transmission? Just replace syncro? Rebuild? Install used? Other suggestions?

Which downpipe should I get?

Thanks in advanced!

BTW, I started driving rotaries back in 1993 with a 1st gen. then onto a 2nd gen.
Unfortunately, I had a brain fart and chose to sell out and get a Saturn. Anyway,
I'm back now (7 years later) with a 3rd gen. and looking forward to some new happy memories

usual labor to fix the synchros is about $300 when the tranny is out. usually about $300 to drop the tranny.

Welcome back to the dark side...
If that motor is still original, I'll hold off on performance mods for now. Start looking into a rebuild as you are what some may call living on borrowed time. Good luck with it.

Watup Val. Thanks for the invite. I'd love to get together. I saw your post about
the last meet but could not get away on Easter Sun. Besides, I'm still driving the Saturn. Hopefully my FD will be as ready as I am.

Laterz.

I'm sure you all saw this one on Ebay, twice. Lino (OSA) sold it to me. He had
it for about 8 months but made no mods.

I know she needs some TLC and $$$ but with a 7, how can you loose? My biggest worry is the high time engine. I'll probably be selling the Saturn and putting the cash away for the rebuid. That will take care of that. In the mean
time I'll probably use the Saturn as the DD.
