Hey everyone my name is ryan and as my name implies i'm a mechanic in the army national guard. I'm in the market for a 3rd gen rx-7, and wanting to know everything about these cars is what led me here. I've gotten tired of my Taurus and am now in a more financially secure position in my life as to where I can afford a nicer daily driver/weekend rocket. I'm not too interested in making a monster out of one of these, but I am interested in making it as reliable as possible by upgrading the radiator and intercooler (I did my homework), while doing small modifications such as exhaust, intake, and maybe playing with the stock turbos and fuel delivery/mangement system a bit. I also have a pretty extreme rockcrawler that I'm building right now as well, a 1992 Ford Bronco that I have performed a solid axle swap on featuring a Dana 60 kingpin style front axle with 35 spline chromoly inners and outers with ARB air locker and a Dana 70 in the rear with a detroit locker with 5.13 yukon gears turning all of it. These are suspended by a fourlink/coilover up front and a fourlink coil & shock setup in the rear. The steering on it is a custom crossover/hydraulic assist, and disc brakes front and rear. I am recentering a set of military Humvee rims for it, I've yet to figure out which tires to put on it.
