My Friend Almost Died!!!!!

okay the other day on highway I-55 along the 88 mile marker in evergreen alabama there was a race between my friends black 95 corvette and someone drivng a silver mazda the two were driving around 150mph my friend hit the guard rail rolled his car 3 times and caught fire, a good samaritan pulled him out, right before the car exploded. The driver of the silver mazda ran. I assume it was most likely an rx7 or rx8 based on the speeds they attained.
my friend is in a coma has a collapsed lung and has brain damage I want to know who did it! if anyone has any info please let me know or the alabama bureau of investigation

thanks

Your friend was knowingly engaging in potentially deadly acts. The Mazda owner didn't cause his accident from what you said. That would be like suing an alcoholic beverage maker for being crippled in an accident because you were drunk.

I know how it is to lose someone close from an auto accident because of stupid choices. My sister died from brain damage after she rolled her car, fell out and was crushed. All because she chose not to wear a seat belt. That's not the automaker's fault. It was her's, and I have to live with it every single day.

Dude, first off I am very sorry to here about your friend. I wish him the best and hope he gets well soon.

Now, you said your friend hit a guard rail at 150mph and your looking for the guy who did it???? Well I would imagine your friend did that to himself. I am not being an *******, but that is some very high speeds on public roads. Stupidity is no ones friend. Even if he was messing with another car, the other car may have been far past him and didn't even see it happen at those types of speeds.

I wish him much luck and hope he gets will soon, but it sort of sounds like he did that to himself.

Sorry to hear that but, you shouldnt be on this forum hunting for the driver of the other car. Even if he is on here do you honestly think he will come forward and say it was him/her.

I hope he pulls through and I am sure everyone on this forum are too. But instead of trying to sue the mazda driver, maybe you should be suing Chevy for creating the vette, mazda for making great handling cars, and the maker of the guardrail since thats what ran into him. Maybe add some skull and crossbones to the gas pedal so people know you can injure yourself.

I've lost more friends than I can count on my two hands due to street racing. I have no tollerance for the bullshit but I dont go out in a fit of rage on forums to lash against whoever the driver was. And due to this "great" court system, the driver of the mazda if found will be convicted of manslaughter even though your buddy had the choice of slowing down and caused the accident himself.

So in closing, I hope your buddy pulls through. Lives his life perfectly healthy and back to normal and realizes what he did was completely moronic. Damn, 150mph someone is watching over him, cause the chance to survive that is quite slim.

I also very sorry for your friend. I hope he pulls out of it with no long terms effects.

*but* nobody forced your friend into the street race, you/himself/his family have no one to blame but him. Now if it would have been an innocent bystander then that would be a different story.

I'd have to agree with Raz on this one....
If you hit a guard rail with a Vette, the last thing it would do would be flip...
That car would have torn to shreds before even trying to flip over. PLUS at 150 mph it would have flip at around 5 times and not 3. EITHER WAY EACH AND EVERY INDIVIDUAL IS RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS/HER OWN DECISION AND ACTION... no need to blame the Mazda owner...

That would make it a completely different story.

Sorry....even bullshit doing 150 mph is still bullshit. The internet is littered with such first-post fabrications...

1st of all, if it was an RX8 it had to be very modded as my 85 GSL-SE smokes rx8's all day. So if it was an RX8 someone knows that car because of the modds.
Second, this sounds too much like TV drama. In the 12 years I have been a fireman I never seen a car explode! Now maybe it caught fire, but exploded????
Unless he had NOS, but then that would not have been a RX8.

If this is true hope your friend gets well, then hope he decides to take his speed needs to the track.

LOL Amen!

To the topic creator. Unless the other racer caused him to wreck(clipping his rear end or something of the nature) he is not at fault for your friends accident. Your friend was a willing participant in a illegal event which put not only his own life in danger, but those of innocent people also using the road. Instead of working on your persuit of this other driver to be punished maybe you should be working on your friends defence, because the excessive speeds you described constitutes wreckless driving and im sure is a violation numerous other laws(some maybe AL specific).

It's not a huge leap to think he meant I-65...which does run through Evergreen, AL. I can't find any news on this though.
