MX5ATL Presents: Track day at Atlanta Motorsports Park "Cinco de Mayo Border Run"
Ok this is REALLY happening. I got a tour of the track Saturday and what a blast this will be. Imagine Dealsgap/BloodMountain and Imagine getting to use both sides of the road... and Imagine the road wider...
F1 Lights on the turns..etc etc..... This is going to be epic.
Only sign up if you can DEFINITELY go please.
Once I get 40 People you will have to send a check for $250 to James Marcellana 843 Mountain View Terrace Marietta GA 30064
You will get an email when that happens.
You don't have to send a payment until I say so unless you want to mail a check now but it will not be cashed until we have 40 drivers.
You can also paypal $265 to James@itbizneeds.com or Charge on a credit card. Try to paypal as a gift please
Once you send your check and we sign the contract, there is NO REFUND. You are always welcome to sell your spot.
This event happens rain or shine. If you have a convertible, you must have a roll bar or a pop up bar like on the BMW. You may not run slicks or R-compounds unless you have a Hardtop.
There will be 2 run Groups and you will get about 3 hours of Track Time, Im just saying.
Please be honest with your Track experience, I will get Instructors available for you.

Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) is a road course designed by famed Formula One architects, Hermann Tilke. AMP is a 2-mile road course with elevation (100ft+!) changes, technical course layout, high speed straights and two ‘signature’ corners designed to pay homage to famed European race courses; Belgium’s Spa-Francochamps and the iconic ‘Carousel’ from Germany’s Nurburgring. Incorporating these most famous and exciting of all of motorsports only hints at the lengths.

Awesome! Get some other RX owners, we need more rotor heads to come out!
I'm very excited, I've never gotten to track my car yet but it will be ready for it, and got to ride in a stock BRZ back in December with a friend on the track and it's definitely a fun course!

Absolutely, just have to click the link at the bottom of OP and sign up!
We're stuck at 25 people, so PLEASE! If you want to do this, sign up!
If we get up to 45 people that would certainly help as the event will be catered!

Get married on the track!
haha well awesome, if they are interested enough make sure they sign up via the google sheet.
Congrats though! That'll probably be more fun than hanging out with a bunch of sweaty men for a day haha

I don't think she would be very happy about getting married at a track. She is already a nervous wreck!
I'll check up on the guys next week.
Thanks, i know it's going to be a blast!!

95dB is their limit.
During events apparently they test at pitout for 95dB at 25ft. @ 3000RPM
BUT... if you are to loud they will radio you off the field and you'll be OUT for the day... unless you replace your exhaust in the pits lol
Yeah, we've been discussing the sound limit a bit over in the RX8 forum; they are VERY strict about how loud cars are, I am already trying to sort out what catback I am going to have to replace mine with because I know my car will be over their limit, and I think I'm about ready for a less noisy car anyway.
Absolutely, make sure said friend signs up though!

They're pretty strict to meeting the 95db as they promised the city that they'd maintain it at that level if they could build the track. They went through a lot of hell to make the development happen so they don't want to ruin a good thing.
We're 6 people away from making this happen. Someone must want to join or know of someone that does..

I bought a cheap dB meeter from Amazon and I have quite a bit of testing before I get out there and am in the middle of considering swapping out my exhaust setup from the engine because of it (I am kinda tired of a loud slow car anyway lol)
Anyways for those that did sign up, we all received emails Friday night, if not, please sign up on the google documents ... document!

When I ran with iTrack Motorsports last December, they did a dB test at a stand still. Keep on mind that the car will be a little louder under load. Do you wastegates VTA or recirculate back into the exhaust?

Does anyone know the point of contact for this event. My buddy signed up but backed out due to the fact he received an email from the person who is accepting the cash that "in MY opinion" was very unprofessional. My friend said he is not going to pay someone he doesn't know 250$ and receive an email stating "thanks for participating in this ponzi scheme." I'm with him as well. Sorry for trying to get my friend involved. But I have to agree, it would have freaked me out as well. Granted neither of us know anything or anyone except what was posted on this forum.
Hope we aren't being to childish. Sorry.

James Marcellana is in charge and has been sending out all of the emails (james@itbizneeds.com).
Sorry if it feels unprofessional but he (friend) should've also followed what the emails said, and emailed James back to tell him he was cancelling because now we're all waiting on people that said they would pay.
This is NOT James' first track event either; he puts two or three together per year and has been for the past few years.
Sorry it seems kind of awkward, yes the first email was a bit strange, but we're more limited on time than anything else.
It would be silly to miss a chance like this, and then make 38 other people miss this chance as well.
