I will be there. Charles and I will be linking up at his house in Smyrna around 4:30
I will be in the White GSL-SE that no one will see since Charles will be in his REPU!
My little tranny noise was my fins on my drive shaft hittng the heat sheild. It was a easy fix and she is up again. Next to put the redline oil in, add my cross drilled/slotted rotors (4), ss brakelines, and replace all the wheel bearings.
Not in that order!

Today I drove his REPU and well, it was almost as good as sex! Must have repu!!!!!!! MUST HAVE REPU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oil Pressure

I was gonna send you a PM about that, but I'll post here so we can get some other input. Mine drops to 20 psi at idle, up at 3k its about 40psi. Also have you changed the oil since the rebuild. It might have some prelube in it that is causing it to be thin. Also with the weather warming up you might want to run 20-50w expecially if your going to run it hard. Just my .02 worth.. Plus we can check it with another gauge, just to make sure its not a fault with the gauge. Later, C-the REPU Man

Yep changed the oild now twice. I have 1400 miles in the rebuild.
As far a oil I still am old school and run 20-50 Castrol.
Mine is at 20-25 at idle and 35-45 when running.
The old motor use to run 30-35 at idle and 60-60+ when running it.
Yes, need to check the guage first. It might just be getting old.
I will know tonight what day of this week I have from little Madelynne.

Chad

also dont forget the little nylon seal and rubber O ring behind the front cover if it got left out or split its leaking half of your pressure for sure

Thanks, I have read something about this a while back and could not remember it.
If I drove the car with this leaking would it hurt the motor if the pressure stays above 30 psi? Really don't have the knowledge to check this at this time untill I get someone that knows more about it than myself and get all the replacement parts/gaskets needed.

i had dove one myself for a little while before i had figured out that is where it was leaking the rubber O-Ring had fell out apparently right as i was putting the front cover on but it didnt appear to do any damage but i couldnt tell you really just how safe it would be considering it was designed to have a high volume of oil pressure in the first place. sooooo.
although i have seen cars that were all stock with high millage that ran below 30 psi at idle and wouldnt even touch 60 at a rev but then again that could be the factory guage or sending unit itself. personally if i knew that the very same motor before rebuild had higher pressure with the same factory guage and the same sending unit that was on it before rebuild then there must be something wrong. cant imagine just in pulling motor and putting it back in would cause a faulty reading. but i do have to agree to try a different guage/sending unit or try something ive done in the past to check 1 hehe. start your car and have another RX-7 parked beside it and start it run a wire from your sending unit to the other car's sending unit input wire and then run a ground wire from your car to the other car. yep it has to be grounded lol. couldnt figure it out why my theory wouldnt work the first time and then the light bulb came on hehe. so yea run the wires first and then start yours and then just simply just turn the other car all the way to the ON position dont have to start it actually. but that sure beats having to swap guages or sender. but i doubt its 1 of those 2 sence it worked before the rebuild.

As for the motor is was the stock 13b 6 port GSL-SE motor.
When it was rebuilt is was built using 13B 6port S4 rotors, housings (slight porting), end plates, UIM, LIM, TB, and Dyn. Chamber.

All other parts were used from the GSL-SE motor (oil pan, shaft, front cover).

I will try your testing method, that sound alot easier. Just hope I don't have to pull the front cover.
Thanks

Not too sure from that direction. I know you came up last year to it with Phil.
I go up I-65 north to I-840 east, then over to I-24 east/south and get off at the why 96 murfreesboro road exit (I think exit 81).

This friday coming up 6-3-05 I don't think anyone will be there. I have been the past 3 weeks in a row and we had a good turn out one week.
If you want to come up, get with me and tell me what friday is good for you.
Then I will try to get a few of us to show up too. maybe we can get phil to show also.

HDP ,I may go 6-3-05 and if so and you get to the house at 4:30 or before we will go in together . If you come in late we can not park together . No saving spaces .Getting there later is not good if we want to park together .

maybe if we meet as a club we can save spaces. . . just make up a banner and post it up somewhere. . . well be able to save spaces that way. . . nobody likes to intrude on someone elses territory.

ya, this week (5/3) is not a good week.
Why don't we all try for the week of the 17th or the 24th?

Who's game for the 17th or 24th? Post it so we can all try to go.
The most rotaries I have seen there was 7, so lets see if we can give the crowd a display of the different rotaries made.

charles will represent the repu's

Rich and richie can represent the 1st gens

Dustin and me can represent the 2nd gens

Gar, paul, HDP, and maybe phil and represent the 3rd gens.

man if we had the nine people listed above all parked in the same location that would be cool and look good!

CHad
