I made a post here but didn't know which thread I was in and went back and deleted the text. As an edit I had to leave something. I think I went to the Saturdays thread and posted the message where it should have been. I think I was showing the GRR logo for the black shirts.
I went over to the Performance Freaks website and posted some information about a proposed get together with the eastern NC rotary owners and our Raleigh Drive-In group and there was some talk there amongst the Mazda drivers about the Deals Gap event.
Any more info about lodging arrangements with Fontana Village?

I don't think anyone is going to be going too fast, so I wouldn't worry about it. I don't know what the speed limit is on the road, but I could see hitting 60-65 on the "straightaways"

There are no straightaways! 311 curves in 11 miles and it looks like you'd be lucky to do the speed limit unless you're on a bike. From what I've seen on the website they talk like you should be extra carefull your first time through there, bikes speeding, trucks cutting the corners, and just making sure you don't forget to take the turn while looking at the sceenery. I don't think we will be able to play around like we did in Bahama on the back roads at the GRR meet but then again who knows... sounds like we're gonna have fun any way you look at it!

We Have OUR first sponsorship!!
I talked to Chuck from Rotary Extreme and he's willing to be the part sponsor of this event.
I've also talked to Brian Hinson from Hinsonsupercars.com and He is very interested in bringing one of there LS1 converted car to Deals Gap event.
I'm hoping that we get 5 more sponsors by end of Feb.
Also, WE NEED good T-shirt designs. Please post if you have a design you would like to share.
Thanks!

Ok guys.. I was going to goto Deals Gap this weekend but I need to part out my FD that I was selling... So, I can't make it this weekend.. And next my brother is coming into town and I can't go... So, its going to be beginning of Feb or mid Feb.
Far as update on this event. I've spoken with RotoSport and they are thinking about sponsoring us in either prize giveaway or by donating cash for catering.
Also, Hinson Super Car is going to help us get a deal on T-shirts and also possible sponsorship. T-shirts will be 8-12 dollars and it will guarantee your free meal(s) at Deals Gap. Once shirts are designed, I'll be collection money and also add you to the list.
***IMPORTANT***
I highly suggest people to PLEASE!! purchase these shirts as it will give us definite number of drivers and also it will help us get sponsors...
Also, This is a free event in which me nor anyone involved in this event will make any kind of money.. $8-12 for a shirt is what I'm prediction as what it will cost to print front and back.
I'll inform all of you as things change.. Also, This thread is getting quite long. I'm going to talk with a webdesigner (former FD owner) and he's going to help us with a webpage where we could post all the new info.

Great news on the sponsorships, that will make the whole event more fun. Have you any word yet on lodging at Fontana Village? Their website indicates a nice location very convenient to NC end of the Dragon Tail.
