It just doesnt end ...
It just doesnt end ...
So I've clocked about 57 miles on my car since the rebuild nearly 8 months ago due to a **** load of problems that I've been having to fix (yes its been that long ... )
Anyway there was always a small coolant leak when I got the car back after the rebuild, which I attributed to a hose or something. Well I got the car on a lift to give it a good once over, and there's no washers on the tension bolts .. there's a shitload of sealant on three of the bolts, but it looks like a hot mess. So tada .. found my leak.
Now I have to ******* drop the trans, clutch, pp, and flywheel just to put some ******* washers on.
Sorry for ranting, but it just really pisses me off.

He had Don Charlie from Rotary Clinic do the work on BOTH his 3rd gen and his 2nd gen... Waited a LONGGGGGGGGGGG time to get his cars back and BOOM.....
His 3rd gen didn't last but a couple of months and now this.....
I would take it back to him and make him do the job the right way... Probably have to wait a year though

maybe ask for some $$$$$ back to have a better Rotary mechanic do the job...

6.5g later ... I'm in the process of moving to New York so not bringing it back, just going to tow it up there and work on it there.

I feel your pain.. I spent much of the fall piecing my single turbo project together and completely installed it all myself. Got the car done in time for tuning and it performed well. I have had a messed up diff. for a while so that was the next issue to tackle. I know zero about rearends so I purchased a turbo II pumpkin and found out it was from an S5. Only S4 works for FD's. Then I bought an S4 and all new bearings and seals for the build. Took it to a shop and they opened my carrier and replaced everything. Took it for a ride and it sounded terrible. Tore it back down and they said buy a new ring and pinion to solve the problem. They put it back together a second time and sounded worse than the first. I'm like WTF? Come to find out the they reused the crush collar ( a big no no) and the pinion bearing is whining. Now I am out $$ and it has to be opened again. Probably didnt even need the $500 gear set in the 1st place. By a different place (said hell w/ the 1st guy.) Now I have no funds to take the car to DGRR. All the work and $$ I did last year has amounted to zero because my goal was DGRR. I am missingthe event for the first time in 5 years because someone else fucked up my ****! Moral: Learn.. Do it your Damn self!!
hurleysurf24, You & I talked over the phone about two years ago we were working out me rebuilding your engine but you never got back to me. Sorry to hear about your CARS +1 with what G's 3rd GEN said and another Moral To Learn is -You Don't Always Get What You Pay For, But You Will Always Pay To "Get IT" (meaning to learn) Chris.
