Jobs around Charlotte NC.

Hey guys,

I have been on the forums for a couple of years now. Well I am graduating from Radford University the first week of May. I am planning on moving to Charlotte, NC.

I have been applying to a whole lot of jobs off of Monster, Careerbuilder etc. and so far have only received a few lukewarm responses.

I know that having a contact person is very important as the saying goes "It's not what you know, it's who you know."

I will be getting my Bachelors Degree in Art 2-D/Graphic Design and a Minor in Business Management. I have taken quite a few management classes and enjoy that more so than the art, so something in the management, human recourses field appeals to me.

I am have a great work ethic and am not afraid of hard work.

I can furnish my resume and cover letter if necessary.

Please guys help me out. If you or you company is hiring or you know of someone who is, let me know.

Thanks

-Gregory Voth

Charlotte Observer will be your best friend here. I regularly see ads in the Observer for Graphics design related positions. Good luck dude.

Thanks,

I go on there every other day and send out my resume to any job that intrests me. I do the same for Monster, Careerbuilder, Oddle, etc.

I have sent out 10-20 resumes a week for the past month and a half, with only lukewarm responses.
I interviewed for St. Paul Travelers Insurance and am waiting for a call back. That intrested me as well as new home development companies in the area. We shall see what happens. It seems like no experience no hire.... that Catch 22 that everyone goes through.

Exactly. Thats why I am throwing my Computer Science Degree out the window and going back to school for meteorology. My long time love. I feel I wasted my time giong threw school for a Computer Science Degree and no one wants to take you becouse you are a spring onion and have no experience in the "job market" I say the are full of . This is what I want to do to the employers that think that way . I've been searching for over a year now. If you can't get a job how are you going to get experience

Oh well sorry for hijacking your thread. I felt a little rant comming on.

Actually you can find places that will hire you man. It just takes allot of determination. A good way to find jobs in that field is on the Net. Are there art forums that you go to? If not, start now.
Also hit up contracting companies, they are good if you can find a decent company. That is how I got my foot in the door with my degree.
