Well, Bill Jr and I just got back from the meet. It was really great to see all the different rides and meet the different people. Unfortunately, I did not get alot of names to go with cars. By the way, I am the one with the red 85 GS. There were some really nice cars there, and one really interesting Eclipse(?) that had alot of customising (read--$$$$$).

But it was a blast and my son and I both had a great time meeting all the people. And.... he won one of the 'coveted' engraved rotor shot glass's. He will keep it on his shelf along with his little "Initial D" 2nd gen Rx7 model.

We went on a cruise towards the end of the meet but we ended up getting seperated from the rest of the group as we were driving a little slow to wait up for the stragglers who got caught at red lights. By the time we got to 3rd street in Jax Beach, the rest of the group was out of sight. We were tired so we called it a day and came back to the west side of town.

Aaron, I'll call you about when the best time is to pick up those parts. I don't know that I will use the fender, but I'll take it out of your way, maybe someone I know can use it.

I'll post a couple of pics when I get them uploaded from the camera.

THanks again for the food and drink and the whole deal. We had a good time.

Later,
Bill

Here are a couple of pics. My son was in charge of the camera, so I checked through all the engine pics and came up with these, which kinda show the atmosphere of the event. Enjoy.

I had a nice ride back to Tampa with the windows down and the sunroof open the whole way down US 301. I didn't even bother turning on the AC when I got to I-75.

It was great seeing everybody again - Brian, Wayne, Jack, Dan, Fritz, Dale, etc, and meeting a few new people. The food was great, so many thanks to Brian and Tom Bush Mazda. I ate so much I don't think I'll need to eat again tonight.

And after all the hype, yes, those brownies are damned good.

I actually kept up with you guys over the bridge (barely) but lost you at the red lights on Atlantic just before 3rd st. One moment you were there and then we were like- where did they go. Some guy in a new style celica was driving at a snails pace and we couldn't get by, so we decided to slow down and wait for the rest. I don't know what happened to them. Great time though.
Aaron, I'll call ya.

later,
Bill

Patrick (gold fc), Edna (blue vert), and myself had a great time. Thanks to the Jax folks for hosting, nice location, thanks for da food. Unfortunately we got separated very early from the cruise and I couldn't remember the directions. Pete, Leann, Brian, Dan, Jack, Jerry, Bill, Randy, great seeing you again. Randy, thanks for the awesome shotglass and the other prizes. Thanks to Sam again. Inspirational as always to see Carlos' car.
Greg, nice meeting you, your car's awesome and I took way too many pics of it, lol. Garret nice meeting you, great car as well, sorry to read about your problems above.
I didn't meet everyone, it would be nice if you posted your name and which car was yours. I was sure my red fd would be lost in the usual flock of red fd's but it turned out to be the only one there until mr. fancy-shmancy lambo-doors fd rolled in, lol. I'm not bitter!!
If anyone ever rolls through Tallahassee, give me, Pat or Edna a holler.

fritz

My ol' lady and I had a GREAT time...

Thanks to everyone that helped make this happen!

For what it's worth, she was SERIOUSLY considering trading in her '05 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro (which is alreayd paid off) for a silver or blue RX-8. She said, verbatim, "I really like the lines of it... it's a sexy car, and I'd love driving it... do they make it in a stick? I hate this tiptronic thing I have on my car... I never use it. If I got it, would you show me how to work on it to make it faster?"

I think I'm gonna marry that girl! I've corrupted another one! ROTARY POWAH OWNZ j00!

That was a great rx7 meet. Thanks for the food and just a great turn out.....its not often there are rx7 meets in the p-cola area. Oh by the way we were the guys that showed up late w/ the red rx7 with lambo doors, silver rx7 in stock trim, and the crazy green eclipse with all the speakers and tv,s. I wish we could have gotten there earlier....but we will be there next time.
