I'm back in Alabama.

Finished with regular courses at NADC. Going to go back for High Performance fabrication in January. Going to be here for the month of December. Not sure if anyone cares, just thought I'd throw that out there. Still no running vehicle. <_<

I wish I could make it, I'd really love to hang out with the local RX-7 guys. Right now I'm trying to scrownge up enough money to buy the Rotary Aviation rebuild kit. ($460+shipping) My RX-7 was the oonly means of transportation I had. I also got invited to Bryan's wedding. I'm going to try my damnedest to make that.

Are you going to re build it yourself?? what happened to your engine?? was it apex blowout or coolant? Let me see what I can do. I might be able to help you get some parts.

List here what you need.

Adaptor for the engine stand, apex seals, gaskets, ect. I have a rebuild core I bought for $300. (140K miles, was running when pulled from Brenden's car, he replaced it with Victor's engine) housings should be good enough to re-use (I hope). The motor in my car I'm not sure at all that the housings will be reusable. The first few months I had it, I had not noticed that the OMP had been blocked off (looked all over for the damn thing; yes I know I'm stupid) so I wasn't running premix until about....1 month of driving it? Then all those times I overboosted the motor (the elbow conecting to the boost line that goes to the wastegate actuator popped out of the compressor a number of times....then I was seeing 15PSI all of the sudden) In the end, I'm guessing it was a coolent O-ring that went. The last few months of its life, it was overheating under hard driving and running like ****. Finally it just went; the engine would fire over, but would not run. So she's been down since June of 2004. I've been without transportation that long.

Unfortunatley, I haven't even been able to tear down the old motor. I need to have my car in the basement where I can work on it, but unfortunatley, my parents don't want the car to "live down there". Plus, I could also use an engine hoist.

Right now I'm looking at the basic rebuild kit from Rotary aviation. Unfortunatley, it does not contain corner and side seals....I just prey thy're in spec (Yes, I'm that poor).

Mason,

I'm sure I could help with your engine parts. Me and my builder should have some parts you could use. I think I have some good corner and side seals. They are used but if you spec it and don't mind using used seals, you are welcome to it. My opinion, OEM seals are better than going with aviation seals. I'll also talk to my builder and see if he will help.

I also have the adaptor for the engine stand. As long as you bring it back to me in reasonable time, you are welcome to it.

Thanks Phil, I might take you up on that. Right now, the plan for the engine sand is to make my own using scrap metal and my uncle's MIG. I might need something for reference, though. Nice to know I still have friends. Thank you very much.

Mason,

Its that time of the year to help others..

I talked to my builder today and he is going to look around for any usuable parts. Also, I'll get you a coolant seal kit at my cost. Should be cheaper than Malloy.

Also, I might be able to help you out a little with lapping the housings..

how is nadc? i live out here and i dont even know what the deal is on that place. i used to work on diesels at TA in downtown nashville. . . we had a ton of nadc students working there. i always thought about going to school there, but just dont care to go through the diesel stuff to get to the point i want. i was always under the impression that the "cool" training can only be accessed after you go through their "normal" training. . . and that EVERYBODY has to go through it.
