sooo...... apparently a 12A bridge port with a 8lb flywheel can weld a stage 2 clutch disc that was designed for 250hp together...............weird stuff. Im guessing she couldnt handle the RPM'S OF THE gods!!!!!!!!! Rotary for the win!!!! lol
PSHH! PSHH! HEAR ME NOW?

Well. After some tearing back into the power steering on the FB (to trouble shoot why it wasn't working) I discovered the stupid little bypass valve that goes into the pump before the pressure line was in backwards Man I feel like a dumbass. Anywho. Now I have functional power steering Yeah!!!!!! The one thing that wasn't even an option in 1983
sup sam. glad ur doing ok.
dre, i don't think these parts places r even aware the thread pitch differences between early and later models.
in case no one here has seen it yet, here's the cabin(near bottom of page) we'll be staying at for dgrr. it's a share thread i started for those i thought might be interested.

Well my engine has finally had it. But its at josh's getting a rebuild Apperantly who ever rebuild the motor before that it was a great idea to mix and match S5 and S4 housings... There is a pretty good chance the rotors are mix and match too. My 13b is a Frankenstein!!! Also some how it lasted 80,000 miles this way.

As she coughs "Can I stop recording now?"
Holy crap!!!!! Doug, I'm surprised. After talking to Josh, I swear that thing had to come from Earnst from SC. That's all I'm saying. Here lately Josh and I have seen 3 engines that came from SC that we now for a fact was built there, and they had S4 and S5 housings mixed together. Obviously for a "Rotory Shop" to do this, they don't know sh$t.......

Forgive the noobishness and FB superiority complex, but what's the difference between an S4 and S5?

That's horrible........I bet the Ozone layer grew a bigger hole after that one
I can't wait to what all the damage has ensued inside of that thing.
BTW, S4 engines was built between '86 to '88 and the S5 emgines were built between '89 to 91. No new RX7s were built in '92. '91 builds were sold as '92. The EGR castings in the center iron were made differently. S4 compression was 9.4 and S5 compression was 9.7. Intakes were made differenly also.
S5 intakes had a Varible Displacement Intake (VDI) that had two sets of intke runners that that had a flap with a valve that could change the intake path and the runner lenghts were different also. This worked in conjunction with the 5th and 6th port actuation. This made the power band more optimal througout the RPM range. Power on S4 engines were 146 flywheel hp and the S5 engines were 160 flywheel hp.

that engine didn't sound much like a bridge to me.......... i heard gurgle not BRAP lol I will say, I don't agree much with that shop techniques. Im not a fan of starting them up like that. I wonder how long it ran hanging with no radiator? You can tell the engine is a bit more warmed up in that second video, definitely not someone I want even changing my oil lol The real funny part is they dont even have a proper website up. Its been under construction from what I hear for a few months since they opened. BUYER BEWARE!! lol They say they have been in business for over 25 years building rotarys, but It seems a bit fishy..... There's also about 3 different company's with that name in the US.
