i need help on deciding on a turbo
my stock turbo is starting to blow smoke and im in the the market for a new one. the only thing is this is my first turbo car ,and well i dont know too much about turbos spec wise. i have a greddy manifold , it has a t3/t4 flange. im not looking to get crazy amounts of power , i would rather have faster spooling turbo than a turbo thats going to give me 500 hp. i use the car for drifting so lag IS my enemy! im looking to get about 350whp, and i was thinking about the garret gt3571r. but i would like to know everyones thoughts on the matter.
thanks
thanks

you could get a nice 60-1 turbo with a small a/r i have the 60-1 turbo yes lag is a big thing but thats only because my a/r is to big its a .96 you can get ahold of something like .70 to .80 you will have very little lag... and with the bigger compressor side youll be able to produce the higher hp numbers

Thats a perfect turbo for what your looking at power wise. Also, keep in mind that you will be using your car mainly for drifting. Youll already be in the spooling range for just about anyturbo because your obviously going to be keeping the car in the higher revs. any lag in just about any mid size turbo wouldnt be an issue because of it. What you gotta keep in mind though is all the time that you wont be drifting....daily driving for instance. Make sure you get a turbo thats going to give you plenty of options power wise. My Garrett T-25 starts getting out of its efficiency range after 17psi. I would suggest a TO4S from SEX-LESS Engineering lol ( XS- engineering ) It makes full PSI around 3800 rpms and is capable of well over the 550 hp mark. Heres their site:

You might even want to look at a T04e.
Heres how the T04S looked in my car:
