I have a GSL-SE that is not running and I need it to be towed from Atlanta ( Roswell area) to Winston-Salem NC ..It is 300-325 miles . It is I-85 most of the way..It would be an easy ride. ....NOw....I will pay "YOU" $300.00 when you deliver it to me at my door step. I need the car delivered on 12-22 , 12-23 or 12-26. it is a 5.0 ---51/2 hr ride one way. I think $300.00 is fair for someone who wants to make a few bucks....

 

I have a 24 foot enclosed trailer and an Expedition. I will make the trip for 300 + Fuel. I realize it is an easy tow... However it is a long haul and a big trailer but its all i's got's!

well its about $135 in gas for a truck that could haul a car (assuming aprox 15 mpg) plus that about 1/5 of an oil change both ways so theres $10 wear and tear on car and tires add another $20ish equals about $165 not to mention for a 10-11hr drive they'll need some food. so add another $15. i donno about most people but i wouldn't want to do that all by myself. so add another $15 for the meal. +$10 for snacks/drinks. that comes up to $205. so its about a $8.60/hr job for the driver, and the passenger gets a free meal. (for the $300 total)

and thats all assuming that the person lives in the Roswell area.

 

You see though...while we do have to eat...and we do need to drink... Its about helping a fellow RX-7 driver out... I am not asking for much... just a little cash and gas! Food...eh... I just eat a few burgers and a few dew's... Its all good... And as far as a passenger... Hell... Call the girlfriend and say... ROAD TRIP...and shes in the car! Hey man... Ill help you out... I just need something to offset the cost of gas... because...DoubleRRider is right...the expedition does get about 15MPG. Otherwise... Im not making any money! Course...then I am not helping you out....wait...nevermind... If you need help... I am in Marietta- 10-15 minutes from Roswell...

Hell-- Can we fix the car? I have tools and such...

 

well double rider..you have an interesting perspective.....I was trying to be fair in asking 300.00................ I appreciate your response scaait7 , I don't need enclosed trailer ..the car I am hauling is only worth 500-600 dollars ...... If I pay gas , that would proably be another 100.00 and that brings it to 400.00 ...that is just too much..Think about it ok?? $300.00???? ...anyone else ??

 

scaait7....the car has a blown apex so, unless you are a miracle worker..it ain't gonna go...but I need to get it to winston-salem...e-cheapo way.... If someone has a truck with a hitch and they have a trailer, that would be a good way to go..... If it blew half the engine (one rotor gone), but still starts, drive it.

Get the numbers of tow companies along the way - just in case.

I drove a SB 100 miles on half an engine when I moved.

I do have an open trailer I can use...and in fact- I would probably end up using that anyway... When I started thinking about it... However- Lets talk about working a miracle- What happened to the car...

 

You know Chris- A WILD AS$ Idea- I know where an engine is.....like $150 bucks...... However- If you have just lost compression in one housing.... We might be able to revive it......

 

sccait7.... well, it is all so complicated for me right now.. I am in Alabama, I live in winston salem and I don't have time to do anything. what I am trying to do is get the car home and then figure something out..maybe play around with the car and pick the brain of rx7 people like yourself ... I know that MMO did not work on the car. The story is the car was being driven when suddenly it lost power and the car felt like it was running on one rotor. the car was stopped and started again 1-2 hrs later and nothing...would not start.. that is the basic story. Even if I could get it started , i would not want to drive it fearing I would hurt it more or I would get stuck. Plus, I don't have the time as i said... Thanks for the wide *** idea but I really need to try and tow it up to NC........regards...---chris---

i was just defending the $300+ gas comment brought on by the 1st poster. i'm pretty new on here, but for my motorcycle forum buddies and car friends from around here i probly would have done that for the cost of gas and some food. of course i know pretty much everyone on the motorcycle boards personally which tends to change what your willing to do for someone. sorta simiar to the saying "its easier to say no to a piece of paper than a person"

if you have anything that a trailor will hook up to, or if you could barrow anything. id say get a car hauler from Uhaul. its like $50 or so. just an idea
