The get Paul's car to Deals Gap without overheating thread!

2 years of Deals Gap Rotary Rally
2 years of going to the Gap
1 year of my car overheating on the Gap
1 year of my car overheating on the way to the Gap

3 is my lucky number, or I hope so

With finishing my last semester of college and a full time job I haven't finished building my motor for deals gap (or even just to get my car running). I can't continue using my roommates car and the only option is to get my car running. I am looking for a s5 n/a motor (89-91 non-turbo) motor that will have my vehicle back on the road. I need something good enough condition to get me through with little trouble until I get my other motor done. Hopefully the motor will be complete (still in harness) so that the install will go as fast as possible, because build time is at a minimum right now. If anyone within driving range has what I am looking for please let me know. I am looking to give around $500. If someone is willing to give me a start-up no overheat guarantee that would be awesome as the reason I don't have my current motor done is that I was burned earlier by a forum member and had to completely tear down the supposedly rebuilt motor.

ok I have said my peace. Help me out Southeast, maybe I can even get my car running for deals gap and make it there and NOT overheat like the previous 2 years!

Paul

IF you want to bring all your stuff up here I will help you with the rebuild to be sure it goes in right, but you can expect to do all the bitch work

I'd love to help but I'm all S4 here man. Plus I'm not sure if this motor has good compression anyway. If you can just drop an S4 in there temporarily then you are welcome to come up and test this one. I will sell you the whole car for less than $500. Sucks if you wind up a passenger again!

the only thing that would possibly work for s4 would be the block and that would have modifications. Thanks for the offer but it would be just too much effort to convert from s4. Yeah school and work combined really clamped down on the amount of time I am able to work on my car, and it just snuck up on me. Luckily my roomate had a spare car at the time and I have been driving that, but financially i just really need my car running.

Glad to hear it's coming together Paul! See you in Murfreesboro on the 20th!

That is... if I can get my own car troubles sorted out. LOL Seriously though, I'm there even if my car blows up.
