GA Frankinstein 12a

Hey guys I'm west of Atlanta Dallas to be exact. I'm going to attempt a rebuild of my old 12a. I am also going to get another 12a to either install and cross my fingers or use it as parts for the stock 12a. I guess I was wondering if anyone could advise me as to using internals from one engine to use in another.. What would be swapable and what would be a nono. I will have to obtain a base rebuild kit which i think its 300.00 at atkins. I have had several rotorooters but have never torn one down. Any advise would be appreciated.

all the internal metal seals need to be within spec to be reused. this is where a micrometer comes in handy. these seals is what gets costly. u might have 2 good usable rotor housings between the 2 engines, or maybe not.

Thanks I'm going to go pick up the other 12a today possibly. I can get it sort of cheap. But at this point I guess it wouldn't hurt to have extra parts just in-case something is way out of wack. And yea I was thinking the rotor housings as the main reason to buy the engine. Since 12a stuff is going by way of the dodo it might be benificial to pick that engine up. Probably go pick up a harbor freight micrometer.
