Florida: Those FD owners without P/S
I am stuck with my cars condition right now (In need of a motor) and it looks like about 2 months of downtime atleast before I'm gonna be back in the drivers seat. (I've been getting real comfy with my Nissans.....)
Anyways, I've contemplated removing things here and there to make not only my reinstall easier but the overall function under the hood better and to save some pounds. A/C was a possibility but in Florida is TOO important so I've looked past that however P/S isnt as needed to me. I dont want to commit to it and look into a manual rack though until I know what it is actually like.
Any FD owners in the central Florida area that have removed their P/S that would be willing to let me see what it feels like so I can make my decision? Maybe buy you lunch or something I dunno ...
Anyways, just putting it out there.
Thanks,
~Kris

I have no P/S in my FD and wouldn't mind letting you test it out but I live in West Palm Beach so itsw a little far. But if you're wondering its not that bad w/out the P/S, since the engine doesn't sit directly over the wheels. When you're at a complete stop you have to put a little elbow grease into it when turning the wheel but its nothing to complain about.

driving without powersteering isn't that big of a deal, i've been having to do it in my daily for some time now. since my daily is FWD, it takes both hands to park, but other than that it's fine.

Hmm -- yea I wish I could dump the AC too but FL is juts too hot in summer.
Manny, I keep forgetting man, sorry. As soon as I'm better I'll come by -- too bad I missed HIN.
Rey, I've never been in an FC before, are they really similar to an FD in feel, etc? If so I may take you up on that offer. Did he just remove the pump or did he also replace the rack with a manual one?
Thanks,
~Kris

I dunno man. He bought the car with out it. I think it has all of that eliminated since he does have an RE in it now. It's pretty roomy under that engine bay without the stock harness and all the other bs.
