Florida rental tenant laws

ok, so when it rains very hard, water leaks in the bedroom closet. usually not alot but some. the past few days its been raingin cats and dogs. it leaked in the closet and now there is mold on top of the carpet (not under it), is there anything I can make them do? Clean carpets, ect. we move out in 3 weeks so i know they prob dont care, but it makes my roommates sick.

call and ask them to fix it. It will probably take a couple of weeks to fix properly.

Take lot's of photo's of the leak. Cause when you move out they are going to try and charge you for the damage.

for the damage to the carpet. landlord could just come in and throw a little paint on the wall and if you don't have pics of the leak he could try to charge for carpet damage. I got dinged years ago when a dishwasher leaked and ruined the carpet. we moved and got a bill for the carpet damage.

Florida laws protect the tenant more that the renter. They are require to maintain the building in livable standards. Since you moving its not worth the drama...but doucment it and tell them so they don't take it out out your deposit
