Hi Everyone !!!
It's Val from ZONDERVAN RX7 and Organizer for the first ever Miami RX7 Meet yesterday afternoon March 27th, 2005
It was a great first meet of "The West Kendall RX7 Meet" and I was glad to see that a lot of people showed up even though it was Easter Sunday. I hope your families didnt miss you too much.
I got some good footage of video that was taped by my brother Henry who actually owns the property we were on and thus all three bays. He was very excited that it was a good positive turnout and that people were having fun mingling with other Rotarians.
It was very important to have your input as to what you wanted to see happening with the club. A couple of fellows came from Broward County and there were one or two that came as far as Fort Myers and to them we give them a ROTOR Salute. There were some that drove up in a Honda or Acura and I hope they were not too offended when was asked to please move to the other parking lot across the way... Sorry folks.. Only ROTARY HEADS ALLOWED !
I do want to take this opportunity to thank a handful of people who without them would not have been the same.. Let's see ,, I can't remember his name but there was a guy amongst us who said he wanted to change his forum name but was having a hard time doing it. Oh Yeah ! Phillip Fung.. that's who it is... He helped to spread the word around to some of you and also was there to assist in getting his hands dirty with some grease.
I also want to thank Roland "OUTKAST" and His beautiful wife Martha who were the first ones to show up and helped land a hand with the signing in process as well as the name tags (Which no one wore, except for me) It was great meeting them both and hope to see them soon. I also would like to thank Henry Marquez "Propaddles.com" for supplying the tents, chairs and equipment as well as the sodas, James Smith "DarkPhantom" for supplying Ice and sodas. Sorry about not leaving you any Orange soda.
I also want to thank the pros like Carlos Lopez "671-20b", Edgar Carranza "MazdaPros", Luis Gonzalez "Dragon Motorsports", Sean Talaharry "Suspension Specialists", Louis Beale "Strictly Top of The Line", Jose Berroa "Super Compacto", Frank Arguello "Speed n' Style", Phllip Fung.
Charlie Maldonado "Auto Tech Rotary" was not able to be with us yesterday due to an unforeseen circumstance but we wish him well and that he will be able to join us next month.
A shout out to Brandon who came out from Up Yonder North who drove the Black RX7 Vert with the Cosmo who soon will be the proud owner of an ALL WHEEL DRIVE SUSPENSION designed for the 2nd Gen RX7... Brandon , you didnt sign in man.. so i need your contact info so call me at 786-286-3351.
Ruben "White Flamed Vert" for coming out and spending some time with us. Gotta go to his restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale that has some really great Puerto Rican food.
Ali "OneIllTrini"... I hope you got home ok and didnt have any problems getting home. A shout out to Simon "PAPSMAGU" who wrote so legibly on the Sign Up Roster that I could actually make out his info.. Are you an Architect ?
We had some nice looking girls who also showed up to support either their RX7's or the man they were with like Lebbet "AltezzaGirl", Summer "MazdaGirl81", Martha who drove the Dark Green '93 Carbon Fibered Hood Beast.
My mission is to make this club a great one and I have been handed the Broward Group so we could plan a Meet next month April 24th at Markham Park. I figure we can get a Caravan as someone mentioned "Cannonball Run (Rex) Style" from Down South Miami meetup at Dolphin Mall vicinity and ride up the Turnpike to I-75 towards Weston to Markham Park. We are planning to have it so along the way others will meet us.. There are a few guys coming up from Key West and will meet me at the ZONDERVAN RX7 location where we all met yesterday Sunday March 27th. I am working on all the details and if someone from out there Yonder Northside wants to help out please contact me. I will be in surgery tomorrow so i wont be available for comment. I had posponed my surgery til tomorrow because I wanted to devote as much time as I could to yesterdays meet and have it be as successful as it could be.. and It definitely was a great time for all of us there.
And to those who didnt have an opportunity to make it to the Meet for reasons such as work, family obligations etc etc etc.. Check out for pics and videos of yesterdays events.
I plan on making a DVD of Yesterdays meet and if the cost is an issue perhaps the ones that want a copy you can send me Paypal fund ($ not sure yet on amount) or check to my address:
ZONDERVAN RX7
12021 SW 131 AVE
MIAMI, FL 33186
Tel: 786-286-3351
Well, I hope I have not missed anything ... I would like all who read this to send me an email so i can know who you are and add your contact info to my address book. Some of you signed the Roster and others did not.. so if you can please take the time to send me an email to: zondervanRX7@yahoo.com
I am looking forward to seeing all of you again next month in April,
Be Well and Be Blessed,
Val Zondervan M.

Ye Phil, my car is "flyyying" but it got shot down by the dam FHP on the drive home. It was fun none the less. Considering I havent had a ticket of any sort for 3 years, I cant forget that day EVER.
Ill be down for the meet on the 24th, but Ill show up late as that is my birthday (19). I have to spend some time with the gf, and family. Then ill head out to my "rotary" family.
Simon, your pics are always the best
Chris, no problem just try to get it up. Since you did drive the whole way down driving with one hand on the camera and one on the wheel. That was priceless.
Val, Im looking foward to the next meet for sure.
