FAO Islander

My buddy and I were hopping from one bar to the next. We had left Cosmos and were on our way to Phil and Tony's Pizzeria near the Arboretum.

Anyways, were on 74(Independence) and we're on our way to P & T's. We are coming up on this Black 2G TII. My buddy asks me if it's a turbo and I ask him to pull to the front of the 2G so I can get a better look. He does, but in doing so he blows off his HKS SSQ on him. Islander is Johnny ON the spot, he lines up even, honks it off and my friend in his 91 Galant VR4 with a big 16G, HUGE front mount and accompanying mods lets it rip. We take it up to almost 95 and shut down, with Islander in front by an almost solid 2 cars. We pull over in the nearest gas station and BS for a minute. Islander's FC sports a E6K, 60-1 and half bridgeport. You should have heard his car at idle. Lumpy would be an understatement.

After talking with Islander, I found him to be one very cool cat. I asked him if he would race my friends GVR4 from a stop and he agreed. We tooled around till we caught a decent light. MY friend tached up, laid it on his GVR4 pre-programmed 5K stutter box, launched on green and put almost a solid 2 cars on Islander until nearly 85MPH, where Islander came back and drove by with COMPLETE authority.

We both gave thumbs up and asked him to goose it so that we could see it go from about a 45 roll. He nailed it and my friend and I were very impressed with it.

Cliff notes are:
Islander's car is fast. Think twice about racing it.
My buddy and I give props where they are due. We wish Islander the best of luck in the future!
