My miata has 45k on the clock. I've put 22 of those on it in the last 2 years. I bought it spring of 07 with 23k. It was an older womans car. They traded her Miata and her Harley for an 07 Corvette. The car was so clean that Jeff Gordon Chevrolet kept the car on their lot, with the mods. Dealers NEVER keep modded cars.
A rollbar is 2nd on the 'next mod list' behind a header. Then suspension. The autocross announcer calls me 'Mr. Floppy' when I'm out on course because of all the body roll. I won't know how to drive the car once it's flat, I'm used to the suspension now.
I was just picking about the Mazda thing, nothing wrong with a S197. Two of my best friends drive them. One's a blacked out GT500 and one is a GT with a whipple. They're nasty cars, to say the least.
Good luck on the rotary hunt! I'm ready to get another one myself.

You guys should come down to the beach and autocross with us. We'll be back in Wilmington in August, September, and November. July and October we'll be in Jacksonville.
I'd love to come up to Danville and race, but I don't have the race budget for that much of a road trip this month, I'm already going to Havelock this weekend to race.
You'll love autocrossing the s2k, they're very capable cars!

Glad everyone seems to be doing pretty well. I miss living on the coast, but I am better off here financially. I am due for a trip back to visit, just don't know when that will happen. My wife will be back on the OBX in July for a week, but I'm not going. I am busy with work, and can't really go anywhere during the hurricane season. I'm on the FEMA/AMR DRT. I am usually first out for hurricanes. I spent the whole month of September gone last year in TX.

Dan (94Touring) moved to Oklahoma. Last I talked to him, probably close to two years ago, he was still restoring Mini Coopers.
George still lives in Roper AFAIK. I think Joel talked to him somewhat recently and said he had a Mustang too.
Besides you, Ren, and Dubcaps, I can't remember anyone else.

im pretty sure dan was a pilot also.....a buddy of mine in wilmington has this really clean s5, stance coilovers, fidanza flywheel, act clutch, and some swaybars and exhaust....handles rediculously!
he's fc3se7en on the forum, and another friend just tii swapped an s4 base model. 5 lug swap with the better brakes....the interior of that car is FLAWLESS....i wish i had pics

well, heres an update on my car situation! I parted that black car, bought another conquest, traded it for an 02 zx6r with 12,000 miles on it, and now Im trading that for an 86 rx7.
tii brakes/rearend, manual steering rack, s5 bumpers/tailights, lt1 w/ comp cam, roller rockers, nx express 75 shot, 6 speed t56. 30/50mm overfenders, cf hood. will get pics once I have the car. probably be a few weeks

post from the deep recesses brought back to life!
I'm moving back to NC this week. I'm now in a truck, no more mustangs for now. possibly looking for a decent turbo 7 in a few weeks. there's one on CL for $5800 in NC, but it needs a rebuild. looks very clean, but it needs another $2k in parts and labor to run. ehhhh

Bump it up.... I'm back in the Raleigh area for a few weeks with the FD. Don't know if anyone on here still hangs out in the Raleigh area. We all used to hang out at the char-grill on strickland back in the day. If anyone wants to hang out or cruise around this weekend hit me up.
