some pics I took...I have about 100 of the event/drive, whatever. These are just pics I liked more. When did you guys go on the Skyway? We hit it up on Saturday afternoon at about 18:00. Also, I think the event went down really well, gotta thank the organizers ::golf clap:: for putting it together. A couple things pissed me off, but nothing that was under the control of the organizers. I'll be there next year, with bells on.

More Photos, Some your mom shouldn't see

Hey Dex I got a couple of pics from The Fontana Gathering too! Has your mom seen these?

The deputy was saying something like its a crime to paint a 3rd Gen that color . . . and mumbled something about a moving distraction . . .

and then "spread'em" and . . . "search 'cause you gotta be on something to drive a car this color" :o)

Just kiddin' the deputy was great to go along with this. Hope you and your Dad had a great time and you got some great pictures. Tell Tom thanks for coming down with you, anytime we can help out with the car or anything else rotary related don't hesitate to contact one of us. As far as we're concerned, your a member of the Raleigh Rotary Drive-In. Thanks for being a good sport and posing for the pics. We all had a great time and glad you joined us for the trip.

Bert

LOL, you were probably smiling in all the pics, but you had your head turned on the last 2.

That's what I got for now... more later. My buddy Dan Stevens took most of the in-car shots from the passenger seat - he was learning both the camera and in-car photography at the same time so bear with a few of them where they are mostly my car, from the inside. I haven't particularly edited the collection. My better shots are on 35mm, but I didn't take more than a roll or so.

Note that there are multiple pages, but the controls aren't very advanced. I need to put up a real photo manager but I tossed this together a while back and haven't changed yet.

Bert is the older guy with the Black GTU right? yeah,

he was going too slow, and taking horrible lines, braking in the turn, and speeding up when i found a safe place to pass in a right hand switchback where i could see if anything else was coming, i finally got a chance to pass, but barely made it cause he wasnt gonna let me...once i got by him, i left him, and he couldnt catch up, he said so himself

sorry, but thats how it went....i had to pass him because the guys behind me kept kicking it out on every turn and i didnt want them to hit me in the rear of the car,a nd i was stuck behind Bert, so thats why i passed him, safely of course

and what is this mazda driver's event?

lol, yea i think bert was distracted on that last run, tired of driving it, or maybe just taking it easy on the car after letting me drive it. i was with one of the guys behind you, we are all part of the Raleigh group. they were getting bored so they were making the most of the turns. if you can't have fun going fast you might as well have fun going slow.

there is a Mazda driving school in June. i think Johny was calling you out to show off your skillz. however, i doubt there is any insult intended, just a friendly challenge. we are a pretty tightly knit group in raleigh, and we get defensive.

Maybe this fall, hehe.

I believe Phil is going to plan for a fall event if we have enough people going.

That's OK, nothing wrong with a good spankin'. Teaches humility and lets you know you can improve what you do, and there is always payback! :0) You were in the white FC on the last run, right? Enjoyed being passed and looking forward to next year.

yep, that was me, sorry i had to pass ya, every hairpin i came to i was gonna go but u'd speed up, then i finally got a chance on that 1 hairpin where i could see if anybody was coming from the other way, and went for it, but my FC lacks torque and had a lil trouble, but i got by in just enough time for the braking zone :^)
