Charleston and SC area

Ok... so I posted this already on the "New Chucktown Thread," but I felt the need to make my own thread, so I can get some feedback and maybe a few PMs.

My boyfriend and I came to Charleston last week, but I didn't even think about meeting up with my fellow rotary guys!! We rode in his non-rotary car anyway (Dodge SRT-4)... I definitely missed my FC all week. He and I might move down to Charleston in the Fall 2006, so I'd love to start making some friends in the area.

I'd love to come to some of the SC meets... I've REALLY enjoyed being a member of our local NC group: Raleigh Rotary Drive Ins. Being the first and only female in the group for a while, it's been interesting.

Anyway, hope we can start keeping in touch! I'm definitely a true Carolinian... I've lived in NC my whole life, so I don't wanna go *TOO* far from home. So Charleston is definitely a wonderful choice.

Awww. I might be coming down a couple more times while he's on deployment, just so I can start getting familiar with the area, and meeting rotary people... as well as spend time with his friends he has down there.

I'll probably start making an effort to go to some of the SC Rotary events, too...... just as long as people organize them.

I miss Charleston already, lol. I'm thinking N.Charleston for us to move to...Charleston itself is too damned expensive. I'm interested in getting to know people from the SC chapter too. I'll be getting an FC vert when I get back from deployment as a secondary car.

I only know about Cooper River Dragway and it's only an 1/8th...is there anything else I don't know about for a quarter mile?

Our meets kinda suck but when we do organize right it all comes together. Our last 6 meets haven't gone as well as expected. Everybody's busy doing their own thing. I group up some of the chucktowners but the ones who really post more for our area are Rusty Shackleford and pepsi87.

sounds good. Once I'm moved in, if the meets are on weekends we should hopefully be able to make most of them...but you also gotta figure I'll be attending SRT meetings as often as possible if they're going on down there. Doesn't seem like a big SRT area though. Anyone gonna tell me about some race tracks for the 1/4 or do they even exist down there

There's something like 2 1/4 mile tracks here, one's at Darlington, and I forgot where the other is.

cool. So who has the fastest Rotary in the area? lol, not to cause trouble, but I do wanna know. I know I'd get my **** kicked by a powerful and properly tuned FD, but I haven't gotten the chance to race any turbo charged RX-7's yet. It'll be awhile till I got the chance, but who's be interested?

It's going to take a little time, but hopefully before TOO long, the fastest around here isn't going to be an FD.

Chucktown guys, isn't there a dyno out there with decent hourly rates? I REALLY need to get the maps tuned on my car. Right now, I've got too much on my plate to drive down to GA like I normally do.

hey coolvette...you got a vette or an rx? I'll get spanked by a vette, lol...ESPECIALLY with ANY bolt ons, lol. But I'll let you know when I'm down there next if you wanna run. 20B10AE, what you got? This is getting me excited about moving down there. Last time I was living in Charleston I wasn't as into cars, but obviously it isn't a bad place to be. Lots of feedback from you guys so far. Looking forward to meeting up with some of you guys.

lol, cool vette...I'll prolly get spanked if you estimate you'd be close to a S3. I'm actually a "S0" according to Dodge...but I can beat a S2 with my mods...I can't touch a S3 yet. Stock turbo can only do so much, you know? I have an AGP wastegate, Electronic Boost controller, S2 fuel injectors, S0 computer(need a S1 soon!), hard UPP, Greddy RS bov, Mopar 7.5mm plugs, ngk v spark 4306 sparks, stock TD-04 turbo dialed to 20 psi(which is the max efficiency on TD-04), Short Throw Shifter, running rich as a pig(need a wideband o2 and a fuel controller). Before the injector upgrade with 16psi boost pushing 251 whp at the dyno. With fuel control, exhaust and S1 comp I SHOULD be pushing close to 300whp give or take 10ish. So yeah...not as high as an S3...you'd take me, lol. I'll still try you though. Just a heads up, the plans may change and I might be buying a 50 trim AGP turbo after deployment and be pushing around 500whp. Nothings sure yet.
