I posted this in our wilmington section...lets pick a date thats good for everyone and get as much input as possible on the boards..remember the meets are only going to be as good as the communication we provide to each other so no one feels left out or doing something they dont want to do or feels comfortable with...

OK so now the ball is in our court to organize this next meet. Lets do something different and something to keep everyone together and entertained. I was thinking of having an actual schedule of events. I was thinking of things like doing a cruise around wilmington for an hour just for the fun of it and let others that might have a 7 know we are out here...also to keep boredom at a minimum. So for example...meeting begins at 2pm..wait for an hour to b.s and wait for stragglers etc. then at 3 go somewhere to eat where we can have a reserved table for us(me and lt1-rx7 were talking about chucky cheeses and making song requests to the mechanical mickeymouse band like metallica or something lol) like logans steakhouse or whatever we decide on, eat and b.s for 2 hours..at 530 we make a couple laps around wilmington and explore the space and get j-ville guys familiar with our area and even scope out future meet locations(and maybe a few backroads). Then heres where it gets really tricky and may even blow a few minds here..we could go bowling or play pool or go to an arcade of some sort depending on what the vote comes out to be for an hour or 2. Then we all take it to the local starbucks or port city java and get a cup of coffee and split from there. Im starting the ball here now....GO

Damn, Erick's neighbors must hate him.

I will come out once I get this car sorted out. Things like a title, windsheild, brakes....

we could also go race go karts and play lazer tag at jungle rapids maybe thats just the little kid in me but it sounds fun! Seven owners, driving lawnmower powered go karts .........sad part is they have more torque ......and last longer than a year ........ now Im depressed. Well of course some people ....who I won;t mention.....*cough tray cough* will be driving bastards and will just laugh and say it reminds him of the good ol days when his 7 was rotary powered.

But anyways It would be good to do things that can be out of the ordinary and have everyone enjoying them selves.

what is absolutely detrimental to a good meet with fun had by all is good communication..so lets start by getting everyones opinion of when the next meet should be then we'll move on to a list of people that are definately attending then activities will be voted on...lets give this a timeline of at least 2 weeks so that schedules can be referenced and confirmed and activities decided and voted upon.

This was the same guy who was describing to me how the people that talk about rotarys being unreliable either dont know what the **** their doing or heard it second hand from a fictitious friend . IMO the people that complain about no torque are the people that dont know how to drive their car or expect v8 response out of 1300cc's or do that straight line bullshit which the car was not dedicated for. I may be biased or maybe my 7 has just spoiled me but I love these cars and motors and have plenty of respect for them. My car is over 20 years old so I cant expect the **** on there to last forever but its the ideas, innovation and engineering that make the car what it is and why people continue to dump money in them and why there are still hardcore dedicated companies that are devoted to these vehicles.

hey if you can't laugh and joke about what people say about your car all you will do is be upset when they talk crap, I know how reliable a rx7 is and its about how reliable the person driving it is, show of hands how many people have driven their rx7 3268 miles across the country with everything you own and a cat sitting shotgun (with her litter box on the floor and white hair all over my damn interior ) and still daily drive it. While I won't be so naive to think I am the only one, I am proud to say that and have and still do. So before anyone thinks I was serious about our cars being second rate in anyway be it torque or reliablity, reconsider that knowing I daily drive my FC and will do the same with my FD.

also this wasn't to yell at anyone, but please know when I am joking and don't make me sound like a uniformed child.

i definetly think meet and greet type of deal would be cool. just shoot the **** for 1-2 hours as usual. but more importantly.....go drive somewhere! i dont care where or when i just want to drive in a group of 7s. all of our meetings so far hasnt involved any driving so i am definetly up for that. I think dinner/bowling would also be fun, but could start to become a bit expensive for a once a month thing plus gas. at least for me anyways, im just 18 working a little above minimum wage. i am definetly feeling this so far though.

Of course I laugh and joke about the issues of un-reliablility (I did own a dsm ) but to do it constantly makes others believe it(those newbs or easily influenced people that look to others for info).....I daily drive my jeep and have driven it cross country before but that doesnt make me think its reliable...dont get so defensive it was a joking statement(hence the little laughing icon that I rarely use)...know when I am joking as well. Anyway, what is your input on the meet. You would be my other half in this meet planning stuation.

holly ridge connects to burgaw which is where I do my thing...let me know if anyone wantsta do some backroads exclusively apart from the regular meet..100mph does sound like fun but I like keeping the **** under 50 and still be considered pushing it...**** guys, all we've done or seem to want to do is bullshit in parking lots, lets get in some backroads and use the cars for what they were designed to do...and hopefully Ill get to meet those 240's you guys saw last friday and we'll have something for 'em and take them to a nice spot .

my 2 cents on jungle rapids

well lets consider cost effectiveness....Im all about go karting and laser tag but , honestly, $12 for about 15 mins of laser tag or 5 mins of go karting wont be a very good time filler. I would lean more towards bowling...its what, like $7 (i havent bowled in forever so I cant remember the prices) and it lasts about a half hour or more, plus its pretty funny to see failure. Lets try to make it as affordable as possible so some people dont get left out of activities. Remember you have people driving an hour, in a rotary mind you so gas mileage is not its strong point, then eating, then drivng for an hour more then doing the activities then driving back....I would hope the day wouldnt exceed $75 for anyone(except those of us who bring our counterparts). Ok...now about the date....tentatively I vote the 8th..the second saturday of december...yes or no...whos for or against and we need to know what would be good for you...
