Anyone in Albany, GA

Myself and a couple of others are looking for people in Albany, GA and surrounding areas to form an area club. This would be a good way to exchange tips, information, and ideas.

Yes, I'm here, Leesburg really, but that's practically a suburb of Albany. I've finally got my 1st gen running again. Now big brother and little brother can set next to each other in the garage! I'd love to get a group together. I've already talked to Albany Mazda about a rotary group here. It'd be great to get the area RX-7's and RX-8's together. What part of town are you in?

Actually, my parents live just a few houses down from you. But I'm just a few miles away. So did new plugs do the trick?

There is a monthly autocross at the Cordele Motor Speedway (Mid GA SCCA) and in Bainbridge (Dixie Region). Also, the GA RX-8 Club usually does several HPDE's throughout the year.

Just as an outing, we're going to the Grand Am Races at Barber Motorsports Park. Would love to see other rotaries there. We'll reserve a spot at the car corral and get free paddock passes.

Alright, well two out of three of you I know, and that's great. I'm going to setup a website, or at the least a forum for us in and around the Albany area. Sound good?

Actually, there doesn't appear to be a Georgia RX-7 (though there is an RX-8 club) club... So might as well have anyone in georgia with a rotary powered vehicle join the forum.

Well, good to meet you online. The 1st gen is started just fine and running pretty good. Found out that the front timing pulley was installed 90 degrees off. That did the trick. It's still running off the old plugs, though new ones are in hand. I'm working on the idle now which only gets to about 1500, though it's pretty steady.

The Holley screams! and the RB Exhaust makes it really loud. Your father waves at me as I drive by around the neighborhood. Stop by when you get a chance. We'll take it for a spin. I've already got my check list of suspension I want to buy.

This Sunday actually. Here's what to check out:

http://www.mgascca.org

http://www.dixie.com

I've posted both of these on the RX Albany forum. I've got the most posts so far with 5! Check out the Barber Grand Am one. That'll be a lot of fun.

5? I only counted 4... But in any case, it'll be good to have some other people join.

Yup, it was 4, I looked at the number on the bottom.

Let's schedule an Albany Rotary Get Together. I can talk to Albany Mazda and see what they can help with. Bob Delosh had talked to me earlier about doing something in the area with us.
