Alright, someone take the initiative and set a date or make a poll. I tried it last time, and I was unsuccesful due to the fact we had a bunch of other events that month and no one could get time off. I'd like to set something up at the beginning or end of August. That's just me, because I'm planning on taking a vacation and going to Cali. So lets get our heads together!!!!

Jeez, People.
Why not just post with a date that's good?
In July, we've got:
9th (This weekend, bad idea)
16th
23rd
30th
In August:
6th
13th
20th
27th
In September:
3rd
10th
17th
24th
There. Was that too difficult?
Depending on how soon this will be (and at this rate it might not be until the Fall ), my 7 may not be present. Right now it's getting some minor stuff fixed (Rtr. 1 Port actuator stuck open; Odd oil leak. etc...) and might not be able to roll anywhere...
Then again, I might stop doing this engine swap on a Civic and start doing my car, again.
C'mon, people! FOCUS!

Date is pretty solid now.. unless a bunch of people show up and skew it to another date...

I Like St. Pete/Tampa.. cause I LIVE here... BUT..
I think I would prefer O-Town actually...because we could go raid Race rock or something.. and realistically there are a lot more things to do in Orlando than St. Pete.
Now.. Realistically if ALL you wanted to do is just have everyone meet at X location.. and hang out.. and talk cars.. and do nothing from there.. location is irrelevant.
BUT.. I would think Orlando because of the location, and places to plan an activity.
Soo.. Umm Orlando..
I think we can have another meet in St. Pete as long as we make specifics of things to do ahead of time. I gather there is a Dyno of some sort that was planned?
Plus I have a certain 1st gen owner I need to visit in Orlando.

Well if we go by the poll were looking at late August, and mosto f the post I'm reading are saying Tampa. So now the only question I'm wondering is are we going to try and drive some where. As usual with a group trying to get from one place to another with a bunch of cars trying to stay together we always wind up with those in the rear getting seperated and frustrated and just plain loosing people, bacially we need it better organized if were going to try and move a group. That's my rant for the thread. Jack

Hear, hear! That was basically my point in my last post.
I'm up in Gainesville, so really, either one would work. They're both about the same dist away.... 'Course there's always a certain allure to avoiding I-4 Downtown.....

I'm with Scott on this one. Overall availability of things and place to do stuff AND geographic availability to statewide memebrs, I say Orlando. Specifically, Race Rock lunch, some karting at the track by Race Rock and then any of a number of diffrent venues.
I've done THREE RX realted meeting at RAcerock and they've always had strong turnouts and positive feedback afterward. Needless to say it's a very car-friendly establishment!

Yeah, RaceRock's really car friendly. I've had a few meets there in the past w/ various clubs. That's not a bad idea....
How bad is it for group ride? As in, like, if we amass a few people, how easy would it be for them to get lost/ left?

Orlando seems to be the consensus, particularly Race Rock. That was where the RX-8 owners had planned on having theirs, but they had picked the weekend before - purely out of just naming a date. I imagine it wouldn't be too tough to get them to wait one more week.

Well, it doesn't hurt to ask, and we have the benefit of people actually saying that the 27th is good for them. Which sometimes doesn't matter, as they don't show up anyway, but at least it looks good.
I just don't want to stand in a parking lot all day long. The meets I've planned where we did seminars or go kart racing work well. So, I'm glad Carlos mentioned the go kart place next door.

yeah OLDTOWN also has a few CRAZY things! such as the big superman bungee thing that you go strapped up 300 ft in the air and you pull a rope and you go flying across the sky with a harness and ****. another one that bungee launch thing where you sit in that chair and it launches you freely like 200 ft in the sky. good times!
