Thumbs up I believe that we have the name for the Club

I believe from the comments that I received this past Sunday at the Amelia Earhart Park Meet that most of you prefer for the club to be name:

So Fla RX-7 Club or South Florida RX-7 Club

Plus there is also 62% votes in favor of So Fla RX-7 Club. You can see for yourself by clicking on the link below.

https://www.rx7club.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=4978821

At the 9th Miami RX-7 Club “Churrasco” Meet we will be making it official so we can go ahead and establish it.

I need help with an electrical problem on my vert.... you know of anyone that is good

These are my symptoms:

Since I bought the vert two years ago the turn signals work when the parking lights are off .. when i press the brake pedal they stop blinking.

When my headlight is on my turn signals do not work at all.. so driving at night becomes a problem because people here in Miami love to tailgate or dont know what a safe following distance means.

- When my headlights are on and I turn the ignition off the engine will not shut down unless i turn off the lights.

- Lately I have fried two sets of Headlight switches on the surround cluster and its always the same two wires on the personality plug: The Red this wire w/ black stripe and the one next to it which is a beige wire w/ green stripe. The fuses are all fine.

But now my new problem is I can turn on the parking lights and headlights while the car is turned off (ignition off) and i have to flip the high beam lever to get them to turn on but once i press the brake pedal to stop all the lights turn off... and they wont turn on again unless i turn the ignition off and restart the process....

You can imagine the mission driving back home from Amelia Earhart Park Sunday night.. I had no lights all the way back to Kendall...

I have been waiting on Phil for over 4 months to do the work on my car but he is always too busy after all he was the previous owner of my vert.... and I need someones help...
Someone who is pretty handy with this sort of stuff...

your harness is melted together i bet the fog lights you have had to play a part theyve probably didnt but a relay it probably bernt the harness causing a short to ground .get a new wiring harness both dash and acessories harness (ill be alot easier to solve it it)and the lights turning on with the ign off is normal

That sounds about right... I do have fog lamps but they dont have a relay... I just hooked them up directly since they are so tiny... i did use a fuse holder for them though...

I took apart the surround cluster.. the headlight switch is now fried in the same place.. Like i said in the earlier post its the same two wires... I snipped them so it wouldnt continue to burn away... i rigged the parking lights to come on with a cigarrete lighter plug that runs to my portable handheld work light and tapped them into my parking lights in the trunk just so i can have some lights and be legal but i dont have headlights... i have been thinking of using one of my colored switches on the armrest to power just the headlights separate from the harness...

Can you work on this car ?
I have an appointment to take it to Dennis DeSilva to see if he can make it out.. I need my lights working properly

Simon,
Can you post on here who have given you money as of today... remember the list that i gave you .... I know there was about 70 bucks collected and I will also remind everyone else who will be attending to donate $5-$10

Also so we wont have a repeat of the last meet where people didnt bring anything or didnt know what to bring due to the calls that i was getting the day of the meet as to what to bring ... i will simplify the situation and just appoint each person and tell them what to bring so we dont run into the problem of not having what we need... like what happened at the Amelia Earhart meet where no one brought a girl.

Ismael had to throw away all those burgers and i bought 66 Nathans Hot dogs .. that is a lot of money just to throw away...

Lets get organized and each person will be assigned something to bring... sound fair enough ?

Be well

Val

I will be in charge of bringing erverything required for a sucessful ASADO, grill, charcol, lighter fluid, lighter, plates, utencils, meat, chorizo.....ect ect. I did this so if someone is appointed to bring "charcol" and there car breaks or they cannot make it, we are not screwed. All i need is for someone to bring the drinks.

Also, if you have not donated, don't worry, just give it to me the day of the meet. did not want to complicate the issue with a pay pal account.

Also, couple of days before the meet i'm going to need and accurate count of who will be going.

thanks

Alcoholic Beverages...

I dont recommend bringing alcohol.. having worked in a State Park as a Mountain Bike Patrol Officer no one is allowed to consume alcohol in park grounds although you will always see people bring them in their coolers. Or mask them with a paper bag... if the State Officers which there are at both Markham Park and Oleta River State park see an open alcoholic container they can cite and fine you.

Sometimes people look at it as an oversight on their part and feel that its no big deal to have beer in a State Park. Only State Law Enforcement Officers can write tickets for this kind of stuff whereas Park Officers cannot even though they carry a badge,... Like what happenned with Darkphantom at Amelia Earhart park where he was pulled over and detained for doing doughnuts in the parking lot. The Park officers could have called the local Hialeah Police and cited Darkphantom because that park is not a State Park. There are police officers in State Parks and they can arrest a visitor if they have just cause.

Anyway, the point is use your best judgement and discretion.
