Hey. Just wanted to let you guys know I just picked up another 7. Its an 88 SE with 177k miles. Grey exterior, red interior, pretty straight body. Runs, but doesn't idle, has some issues. The car does have working A/C and P/S. Not sure what I am going to do with it. Might just clean it up and sell it, or we might drop my dad's spare 350 in it with a T5 and build my dad a V8 FC. I know it is blasphemy, but my dad loves V8's and this is as close to a 7 as I can get him.

P.S. Does anyone know anything about the Red FD for sale at Hyperactive Motorsports in Winchester, TN?

 

Hey guys, I got it running a little better. The car would run, but wouldn't idle and revved really slow above 4K RPMs. I ran a check on the ECU and got no codes. Then I talked to Paul (fero313) and he gave me some good sugesstions. Then a thought struck me, check the TPS. The kid who owned it before didn't know anything about RX's and had fiddled with the car. I checked the TPS at idle and it read 2k ohms. Way off. All I can guess is he thought he was adjusting the idle. I adjusted it to 1K and it runs much better. Still won't run below 1500rpm, but I think bad gas may be partially to blame. Been sitting for a few years. Plan on getting some more gas tomorrow. Just thought I'd give a quick update.
