I purchased this 86' RX-7 a few weeks ago.... the person that owned it had no idea what he was doing, it only has 91,000 miles on it... everything works, automatic, cold a/c, no radio though, the first night of getting it running I decided to take it down the road to see how she drove, well all of a sudden the transmission quits pulling and the car starts smoking from the transmission fluid over heating... ..... I took the plastic cover off from underneath the trans cooler and it was full of grass from field mice or something that had crammed ALOT of grass in between the coolers and the radiator... so now the tranny is burned up and would only pull until you let off the gas and there it would set until it sets for an hour or two and then do the same thing again .... but wait I thought, I got an extra 13b engine with the 5 spd tranny on it that they both had been rebuilt and had about 9,000 miles on them, ... so I decide to switch it over to a manual..... get the tranny out of the car and off the other engine..... ..... the tranny and engine are from a 1rst gen rx..... so now I have to find a tranny from 86' to 88' with the mounting bracket, clutch m/c, clutch and brake pedels....... does anyone have these parts that would be willing to do some trading with me or would like to sell, or if anyone is interested in buying the extra tranny and or engine that I have, it is a really good looking car, in excelent shape I might be interested in selling everything for the right price..... everything is in Knoxville, TN, if interested let me know.
