I'd be interested in a street version with the air pump staying. Also, any thoughts on the longevity of this setup for street use? Do you feel like it is reliable for extended use/lots of miles?

As far as longevity goes, we haven't had any issues with our FD kit. The electric pump is also rated for 7000+ hours of use; this equates to roughly 200,000 miles at an average of 35mph. I'd say that's a bit better than a mechanical pump personally Basically the only thing limiting longevity is the alternator belt itself.

As far as the Competition EWP Kit group buy goes, we closed that in May. We do have kits for sale though at standard pricing now.

Evans coolant isn't recommended for use with this EWP as the viscosity is different than coolant, which will negatively affect the pump performance.

Any news on the street version that will allow us to retain the airpump?

Sort of... the long and short is, we've use and Electric airpump in place of the mechanical one and decided this was just a simpler and better solution than re-engineering the entire pump cap setup, making new hoses, etc. with the added benefit of further reducing parasitic drag

So does that mean you'll have an electric air pump kit in the near future? I was just about to hack one up...

That style doesn't solve anything... we considered a design like this previously and ruled it out. Remember, when you remove your waterpump you now need an idler pulley for your airpump, and your airpump belt can't cross paths with the EWP itself. Basically it doesn't solve anything.

Actually this would be worse than our current design by a long ways as you really need the pump as LOW in the coolant system as possible. This is a step backwards from our kit. Moving to an electric air pump setup (if needed) is a good thing.

We've currently got the kits back in stock with a new production run of 50 pieces. So far 23 of that batch have already gone out. It seems like there's quite a bit of interest in this setup now that things are warming up again. For more info or to order check out this link SakeBomb Garage EWP-150 FD3S Competition Electric Water Pump Kit

They are also currently ON SALE

I am curious about the electric airpump. Would it be able to run without the ACV? Because I don't have one any more.

Wondering if there have been any updates on this. EWP and electric air pump package sounds great to me.

Still hoping for the street version EWP with thermostat and electric air pump. That would check a lot of boxes for me
