From my understanding the fronts are larger and use a little larger rotor. The rears are the same size. I have never measured them though.

I just recently picked up the front and rear.. and this spec looks to be correct. The front rotors are definitely larger and noticeably thicker. Rears look pretty much the same except slightly bigger rotor.

Where did you get them from and how much are they ??What rotor size did you get and what about the pads ??

I was thinking of getting the 99 j-spec ( TYPE RS/RZ ) or Brembo 4 pot ones.

The thing is what will be much more available and affordable when it comes to replace the rotors and pads .

What about the "MAZDASPEED" one's , i like the logo on them but whats the deal with those are they any bigger than TYPE RS/RZ or they the same ??

Any interest on a group buy for 2-piece rotors to fit RS/RZ brakes front and rear?

I am working with dba brakes of australia on this one for some custom made 5000 series. They have expeerience with the limited edition RX7SP race car (mazdas first use of the 314 mm rotor)

I'm thinking of going with WilWood calipers + 3000GT VR4's rotors , its deff. bigger and more eff. then RX7's caliper+rotor set up.

I think you guys w/ RX7 could do the same , wilwood caliper and your choice of rotors.

Julian, Did you ever get the 5000 series SP rotors from DBA?? Are any of you interested in this?? I'm working very closely with the guys from DBA and enough interest, I might ask them to produce this?

No, I didn't I got shunted back to US distributor and his interest dropped. I would still like them as a source; as I never took the custom step so am running the JDM's.

Julian,

I been talking to the DBA guy and hopefully there are enough RZ brake people in the states for them to bring some over or start making 5000 series.

The rep is trying to track down a slotted set for me now.. so we shall see.. he told me they are not in production but I think they might have some in the warehouse.
