Why does this Aston Martin have a rotary?

So I was watching CSI: NY the other day because nothing was on. Someone escaping from an apartment gets away in a black Aston Martin. It has smart windows (automatically dimming), self repairing body work, and a flamethrower kit. Wanting to show off (i guess) CSI's CGI department takes us in to the Aston's transmission and then engine.... It had a rotary.

Why?

Link, seems to work best in IE

It's about 2:45 in and it looks to be a 3 or 4 rotor. Did CBS have something to do with the production of F&F?

The rotary is the only engine the bad guys could use in their car to spill that much fuel out the tail pipe.
