Look for a nice well maintained car that's nice all around. Bring a flashlight and look up under the car around the oil pan and ground for oil leaks. Test drive the car but when you turn over the eng. look for smoke and color. Some white smoke is OK but if it lasts for a long time that could mean a propblem. See if the dealer can do a compression test! Check the oil color - black is bad and may indicate how the previous owner cared for the car. Drive it and feel for smooth shifting (after car is well warmed up). But i must say that whether you get a low milage or high milage car the eng. will have to be rebuilt! It's only a matter of time. This isn't bad necessarily. If you find one with good compression, no oil leaks or heavily smoking at startup and is clean - it's a great car. If there are problems but you still want the car talk the price down down and save your money for a new eng. Read read read these forums and take your time to shop around to get the right car. Once you do and if you plan mods - consider reliability mods first such as a new AST, radiator, belts, and coolant / fluid changes. Don't add the power without adding the cooling power! And always let the car warm up and cool down each time you drive!

ahhhh, the RX from the Auckland NZ 4 and Rotary Nationals!!
that car is insane... i was surrounded by people who love their fours that were saying that is the only rotary they have ever wanted... sure, that makes them fools right there, but the sentiment is right!
maybe there is a chance for Honda people.... nah, nah theres no hope, i take it back.
