Well put the money difference between buying an fd+mods compared to price of a viper and which would be faster. I have believe an fd w/ that type of money invested would out even modded vipers. I can't guarantee these statements though.

Yep, Vipers are awesome. Don't think they are very practical though, and too expensive.

this vid on youtube 'the worlds fastest 6 speed' its a street legal viper doing the 1/4 in 7.9 seconds at 173mph. i don't think there is a street legal rx-7 that has broken into the 7 second range.

give an rx7 a $220K budget (yes that includes the car's price) and see what happens.

very true, i would think it would be a hell of alot cheaper than 220k..i would think with 220k you can get a 12a that fast..maybe some exaggerating..but possibly..well i seen some pretty quick turbo 12a's at the track..so sure.

even if you got a fd going that fast, you wont have 1700 hp. that car was rediculous. stock transmission? no cage, 8 second passes, that driver and that track are both pretty dumb.

No 13B will ever make that kind of power or be that fast in full street trim. Just thought I'd let the optimists know.

I don't know why people on the club are so against giving props where they're deserved. I mean.. pistons aren't my cup of tea either, I wouldn't have my car any other way than with a rotary, but damn.. I can respect any car that deserves it, be it a Viper, a Mustang or a Civic.

To each is his own. Give me $220K and I'm getting a 300 special, Pitts S2B, Decathlon, or an Edge. I'd like to see that viper pull 6G's inverted.

I love my dads 96 GTS. Theres no better feeling than lighting up 13in wide tires at 70 mph. Don't get me wrong I enjoy driving my fc but the viper is a whole different animal. The torque is just insane.

but w/ $220k worth of mods on an fd and you might be suprised. 5 rotors think about it. haha it might not be possible now but a 5 rotor rotary engine would probably be somewhat equivalent to a v10. just my opinion, but that viper is one mean animal.

vipers

You obviously never been in a fast FD. I drove a viper,.... WEAK. My stock supra felt way faster. I love vipers, and can't wait to smoke them all!! 93FD R85
