For what class in Grand Am? The ST cars use stock engines (and there are quite a few RX-8's doing very well in that class).

if you don't mind me asking but how much money does it to take part in one of those races. are you sponsered or private? i'm thinking up words to 100,000 for one race (which includes everything hotel, food, trans. port, and car)
i when i was doing drifting in my 240sx, i bought a truck, borrowed a trailer, all the car mods, maintenance, tires, fuel, hotel, etc. i look back at it and i spent well over 35,000 for six events which doesn't even come close to what you have to prep for. it sucked being private and even the drivers that are sponsered in my autosport only get tires or half off parts.
the money got to be way to much for me but i miss it a lot and want to start back up but i know i'll be living like i did a year ago which is eating bear minimum to try and save up for the next event. no friends, no life, etc.
i would still be in it if i was in cali., event only an hour away and an event all most everyweek end. where i'm at in florida it would take me 6 hours to get to an event thats in Florida! which only happens once every two months.
but really nice car man. i hope your taking full advantage of the opertunity you have b/c i would love to be in your shoes. do you need a back up driver?

The Goldins are in the Rolex GT series (which technically is Grand Am, just not GA Cup) so I'm assuming this is for the same series.

well one of the drivers we had for the daytona 24 this past feb paid $30,000 just for tht race...and we are a private team so its a lil harder for us to be able to compete with the big money boys....but just for an example...the 24 @daytona probably ran us about 150,000 or so...

wow. yeah my E-3 pay wont fit that bill at all. i want to get into grip driving too but just to compet in a little series renting the race cars will still cost around 35,000 a season.
