vid 40-125mph....

did a little vid and stopwatch yesterday from 40-125mph or 60-200km/h. in car stopwatch was 10.7 seconds. i also used an online stopwatch and it was consistantly the same time. not bad for a full tank of gas and a 240lbs pass. next ill do the 40-140mph with a little more road. im expecting high 12's.

vid.

heres a link to the 40-140 times on the forum.

also here is a link to an online stopwatch if you want to try it out.

Nice vid.

But why were you shifting soo early? Well at least it looks like that from the angle that you were shifting at like 7k??

Either way, nice times.

Dont feel bad, i do the same thing.

I feel like if and when i do WOT and shift redline, i lessen the life of my engine lol

So if i go WOT, i shift at 7k max but i dont even speed alot so i just half *** redline it, like 6000-6500 shifts.

You do lessen the life of the engine, if you mean physical wear wise. The motor is designed for it though.

Rob, you couldn't be more wrong. I just tore down an engine with only 52k miles on it, it failed because of one thing----being driven like a grandma. The owner never redlined it, and the amount of carbon inside this motor is ridiculous. It literally blew at 30 mph cruising down the road b/c some carbon got loose. It was a 5 spd, daily driver, owner is in his mid 50s. He has dynoed the car and says he drove it aggressively sometimes, but I doubt it hardly ever saw 8000 rpms. For the health of your rotaries guys, make sure you hit 8k sometimes, remember---they aren't reciprocating!

smg944, your FD is definitely moving. You made like 437 rwhp right? I remember when I was cutting my 14 flat 40 to 140 runs my FD felt fast as hell, and was definitely making around 400 rwhp. Can't wait to see your 40 to 140 times, if you can do it in the high 12s that is really flying

It's far worse on your tranny than your engine.

his car seems very linear. Guess he has really sticky tires. Im motivated to take a vid of mine now. I have a halfbridge with a t78 running 13psi and my car redlines way faster for some reason. Im only at 367rwp because i didnt get to have it tuned all the way.

Nice pull, I am about at the same RWHP with my T78. Video doesnt do it justice, I ran a new z06 from about 50 -130 and walked on the guy. Stock Fd's are quick , this guys FD is fast !

The first time I did a pull on high boost I just held on to the wheel and laughed my *** off.
If you havent been in a single turbo FD , get in one.

There's a big difference between being fast on the street from a roll and being fast at the strip from a dig.......

i would think that the car un the vid should atleast be low 12's. Not saying that low 12's is slow but my car is pretty much minor boltons and acouple other little things and it runs low 13's?

He's making well over 400 rwhp, which is enough to get you into the 11s

Cool. I was going to say, if you floored it in 2nd and didnt loose traction that would be amazing. I will take a vid when it isnt shitty out. It was 70 the last 3 days, and tonight its supposed to get into the 20's and have 6" of snow! Good ol st.louis.

Finally got my car out and made a 2nd gear pull. I didnt have anyone filming me so i had to hold the camera and drive, so i couldnt go into 3rd.
