Long shifter is a mazdatrix short shifter, with a engine dowel pin, found a bolt the same threads cut the end off, and screwed it onto the shiftknob. I like it

Wow, good job. I like the drift towards the end too lol

I will never understand how you guys remember the lines to autox events. All i see are cones. I know most of them are layed down to direct you where to go but when you're in the car, im sure it looks like one big blur, and especially when you're pushing the car hoping for a good time, theres no time to think if the line you're taking is correct.

Idk, looks like fun though. Ill stick to my highway pulls lol

I had a blast, however my times were not as fast as I would have liked. The car is basically setup for a large track, and in super low speed corners, the car liked to understeer, or get serious power over. I tried to link some of the corners in a drift as you saw, but the lines I had to take were tough. Just for some comparison, a stock rx8 running slicks ran about 7 seconds faster. He however is an experienced autox driver. This was my first autox, so yes the cones were alittle confusing at first

The more you get into autox, the more you'll find that some drivers are simply phenomenal.

You'll also find that the RX-8 is completely dominant in B-Stock. We have 3-4 stock RX-8 drivers consistently placing in the top 20 for overall times.

AWESOME!
I was wondering when you would get the black beastly beauty up and running with the widebody, I love it.
(if you want to swap your 50mm flares for my 30mm flares, please lmk!!!!)

how is the tire clearance with those front overfenders and those wheels/tires?

oh man with a rear diffuser your car would be 100% wicked hellcat amazing.

hey wait, we need better pics of the bomber girl artwork!

the car looks great man, congrats on getting it out and racing it too, definitely hard to kickass at autox with a car set up for HPDE/track, but getting out there and getting used to your car so you are in tune with everything about it is the name of the game.

have you weighed your car as it sits?

more pics! do you have any hi-res pics?

I figured people had forgotten about this post I dont have any super hi res, but I can send those pics in the larger formats. Tomorrow Im going to be doing some modding to a NA hood, so Ill take some pics of the hood on, which wont be painted as of yet. Also Im thinking of re-riveting the rear fenders, with fewer, but larger rivets in aluminum, since I wasnt thinking and used steel. I also need to replace the turbo gasket, which blew during the autox. Im just more then honored to receive all these posts! Thank you guys

btw: loving the pin-up girl across the hood. now only if you had tally's of your "kills" I would mistake your FC for a WWII fighter plane. Badass man. haha

well steel on steel might be better than aluminum, but I dunno, I used plated screws and theyre holding up okay, didnt want to spin any rivets if I had to remove them, I hate that with a passion so I used screws. interested to see the outcome, I like the way your fenders look now, nice work. also like the design of your rear fenders, keeping above the moulding line, very nice fit and better look imho.

yeah man we wouldnt forget about your car, it looks great! nice to see it alive and well. that wheel/tire/fender combo is great, ya dont see much of that. I was confused about it at first but I understand the positive attributes a lot more after thinking about it over time. I bet it handles very nimble and precise with that tire size/choice.

more pics!!!

I dont say this very often but thats a bad *** FC! I was expecting some flat black "jdm'ness" with crappy offset wheels but was pleasantly surprised by your car! Wish you were out here so I can check out the car at Sevenstock this saturday. Keep up the good work

That looks sick. Are those the rivet-on wide body panels from ebay? Props on making those panels look that good. Let's see some vids.

vids are already one this page or the previous page. The car MAY be satin black, but will be professionally painted that way. Again I cant thank everyone enough. Espically owen, I love your car, which gave me the idea for the rear fenders The car is running ok these days, alittle bit of a idle problem, but nothing terrible. A PP NA motor is really in my thoughts, however with my recent situation, I dont have space or time for awhile to go through with it!
