I think it's safe to say that's the exception not the rule.

lol im trying to lay low from now on.

All i gotta say about this video is the supra is BPU, thats all you need to know. BPU supras are slow as hell.

If this was a single supra, all you will see in this vid are those tail lights getting smaller and smaller.

Supra guys classify certain mods and call it BPU, then the more bolt on they do (without going single turbo), they add a +.

I remember one time my friend was explaining to a mustang on the highway after he whipped his *** that his car was BPU +++. The stang guy was like plus plus plus?? LOL

It was dumb and funny at the same time that my friend had to add those plus's. lol he shoulda just said BPU.

it also said the supra was NA, if this is true its obvious why it got beat so bad. A real TT mkIV with full BPU would beat a fd on the twins from a highway roll.

There ar FD's "on the twins" running low 11's (non ported motor) and even 10's (ported motor) in the 1/4 mile.

My FD with just downpipe, midpipe with highflow cat, cat-back, K&N drop in filter, ecu and boost controller has trapped 116mph at 14.5psi on the stock twins. Stock intercooler and all.

Supras are fast on the highway no doubt but I dont agree with your statement. It would depend on the mods on both cars but the fact that the 7 is on stock twins does not mean it would lose to a BPU supra IMHO.

He said FULL BPU, that also results in possible low 11s with a tire and a good driver. But since we're talking about a highway run, it would be relatively close. Remember TT supras either have the auto or the getrag 6spd, the getrag matches the supra's powerband ever so perfectly. Thats why they reign on the highway. Its an endless pull.

Im not saying supras cant be defeated in BPU form but realistically, it would be really hard. I say this because there are more FULL BPU supras running around than FD's running low 11s, high 10s on their stock twins.

hmmm not sure ive ever seen or read of an fd on the stock twins get into the high 10's maybe the bnr stage 3 twins but i havent seen that either. Even with all the mods done at 15psi on the stock twins you would need a really really good driver to hit low 11's. Not saying it cant be done but its very rare.

I'm pretty sure the guy who did it cranked the stock twins up to 19psi for it.

Wrong yoyu are. I beat a fully modded TT supra running 22 psi claiming 450 rwhp. 3 times by 2-3 cars from a roll. Let me see if I can dig the video from a few years back. We all used to hang in Orlando on the weekends. FD Rey on here will vouch. He was there. G

^ive seen your car in person and have seen it run, it is obviously the exception to the rule, but the majority of tt fds will have a hard time keeping up with a full bpu supra. What speed did you start from?

Also, the supra's owners "claim" doesnt seem likely.

But whatever, dont want this to turn into another 20 page debate.

The FD won in the vid, thats great.

Wow, that race was done July of 2006. That FD's mine...

I was running stock turbos at about 16 psi that night... resonated midpipe with RB duals....monster V-mount, pfc, 1300cc secondaries. LOW COMPRESSION ON REAR ROTOR and I'm sure detonating a bit.

The guy I raced is a buddy of my friends...from what I remember he had about 450rwhp (as I was told), BPU on stock turbos, BUT was automatic. Apparently he said he was detonating and was losing power with the stock ECU or something of that nature... Honestly, I had no clue how I was going to do against him, our mutual friend said if he wasn't detonating that I would have won anyway..

Neverthless it was a good race, we did 3 runs and she pulled like a raped ape until I blew her on the 3rd run. I kinda expected it with low compression and have built a monster engine with a 500r kit now, burnout wide body, etc... is a matter of fact I finally fired it up last Saturday.

By the way, these were starts from 40...I basically went 2nd, 3rd, and 4th to redline.
