Nice videos.
Spectators at street races.
That's all part of the whole deal. Notting new and notting old!
If you have to be scared or worried about something happenning then you should not be there in the first place.
Big dawgs come out and play and little ones stay on the porch wagging their tales.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to see the action first hand.
There there is foolhardiness, and there is stupid.
I think even you, Mr. Big Dog, - could see that the spectators in that vid were ridiculously close to the action. Most of those drivers are KIDS, with little or no experience behind the wheel of a car. On small miscalculation, and a dozen or so could get wiped out. I remember seeing it firsthand in the street races back in the day by Tamiami and by Saga Bay.
As a P.O., I have had the misfortune on several occasions to have to go to peoples houses, and personally tell them that their child is dead.
Trust me. It's one of the things I wish I would forget.

Hey DirectFreak, I agree with you 100%. Street Racing is very dangerous and stupid but until they build a track where all these guys can go and race legally and in a secure environment I doubt they will stop. We do have Street Legal track events in Fontana but that is about once a month and I think it should be every week. These guys will pay to race and watch every single week, what better business than a 1/4 mile track.

Don't fret...Terminal Island will be open again in the next 2 months (from what I hear) for weekly racing...they will have a full 1/4 mile and a drift track. Can't wait to see the action! I agree with both of you on the street race thing though...saw to many stupid accidents back in the early 90's.
Hopfully Terminal Island gets open sooner so the kids can race there. I'll keep y'all posted!

You're more likely to get hit walking out to your car after getting a cup of coffee at Strarbucks than at a street race. It's alot safer too if you're behind a car or barrier instead of out in the open like those morons in the vid above. But I aggree, we need more legal tracks to get these kids off the streets. And even then there will always be street racers out there.
