Mike B's 3rd Gen RX-7 at drag strip
The car has pretty good 60 ft times (1.63) but top end suffers with the fuel pressure dropping in 3rd and 4th gear. Need to upgrade the fuel system next!

It was 12.003.....It was my first day out with car. I did pull a 12.1 before the single turbo and old motor so I know its has a lot more in it.

I am using the 2 step from the datalogit. Except I don't think it's working right...cuz I was only building 7 lbs of boost and I think 15 -17 lbs is possible.

Normally you aren't able to build more than 3-5 psi without load. Is the 2 step supposed to enable you to build more I guess? I know 4wd guys build boost by boncing off the limiter

A 2 steps sole purpose is to build boost off the line. I need to get the fuel system to support turning up the boost so I can get the top end you have. What is your 60 ft?

My best 60' was 1.88. That leaves some room for driver improvement. I am making about 410 rwhp @ 15 psi on C16. I ran a 12.4 on pump gas at 10 psi with a 2.0 60'.
R/T- .769
60'- 1.882
330- 4.997
1/8 - 7.531
mph- 97.91
1000- 9.709
1/4- 11.538
mph - 123.57
I got some bad wheel hop on that run, but decided to stay on it since I just already let off on a few previous runs. I trapped over 124 on a couple runs but only got 11.7 and 11.8.
Do you need anything special installed for a 2 step and does it hurt your engine? I was wondering if it would help lauch at a consistent rpm

I needed the datalogit to set it up. I'm sure the 2 step wears down your clutch eariler and probably harder on motor.....but if you want a sick launch thats what you need!

Hurting your clutch depends on how you let go at 7k rpm. You could just brake your diff or axles depending on the clutch and launch. Your turbo might get abused a little depending on how you set up the cuts, fuel and ignition. For the turbo to spool you probably want some extra fuel and misfire down the exhaust. That will give you the boost but will abuse your turbo.
