fresh outa the body shop :D

here is some daylight shots and its a little dirty and the nicer wheels arent on but obviously cause of the weather, its mostly just gonna sit in the garage for the next few to several weeks, but I do have the kouki tails and the wiperless hatch on

the paint came out great the hoodpins are cheap and I already hate them, they are mr gasket

so Im gonna have my friend in welding make me nicer pins.

anyways everything came out good except I gotta install some new weather stripping and they fucked up the side molding a bit. I'm gonna wait till it warms up to try fixing it to make it look nicer.

without further ado... pics!

everyone either likes the hood or hates the hood.

I like the hood cause its cheap and my last one was steel with a 10 inch square cut in it by the last owner.

How much was it? Seems like it will be fine as far as flaking/ fading and quality of the paint itself. BUT, overall, I do see some things that are either "off", or questionable.

1) Is the paint flat white, or did they not put a coat of clear on it? Or did you skip the wet sanding, buffing, and wax/ polish stage?

2) The hood pins are like in the wrong place... but whatever, if it works for/ suits you.

3) Why in the bloody hell is the spoiler still black? If that is intentional through, it's alright.

4) I'm sorry, but that front bumper just looks.. horrid. You could, at least, cut off the checker-board mesh, and replace it with black (NON menards and non diamond) metal mesh, put the fog lights in the small openings, and added an S5 Turbo lip, (which could have been painted while at the body shop if you thought ahead.) And why aren't the FTP lenses in there?

5)Those Tossers painted over the keyhole for the hatch. <_<

6)Your moon roof is on fire! ...or what exactly IS wrong with it? It looks deformed and misaligned.

7) the hood is not that much of an eye sore too me becasue of the vents, but becasue of the HORRID gaps... which IMO alignment will not do too much for.

Well, there you have my seven points on why it's not up to my standards. Althrough, it's not a bad first try. No bashing here, just harsh criticism.

EDIT: also, it's not related to the body, but... it's quite commical seeing such small wheels on the seven, mated to even more rediculously narrow tires. I know your car is four-lug, and perhaps newer tires a a bit expensive for you at the moment, but at the very least... CLEAN THE DAMN THINGS!.. lol, some soap and hot water can go a long way.
All in all, all these small things add up to make the work look shoddy, so, next time try to "finish" the car before you post pics, because mean, smart-*** people like me will criticise it.

J/K, well, see ya.

EDIT#2: Hmm, i appologise about ont thing through, obviously, i neglected to read the text in your post, because my attention went to the pics too fast.
Althrough... you bought 4-lug wheels??????? You can buy a 4pot calper/5 lug chassis for less, and swap teh ****.!

wow, your not a jackass.

but to answer your questions:

1. its honda 99 white, and I had to drive it through 300 miles of snow and crap, so its dirty but if you were up close at it on the clear spots it sparkles.

2. I didn't install the hood pins, they did and I noticed that too but its too late.

3. I dig the spoiler , it will look better when I have the black tint and black 4 pistons in front (see below)

4. mesh is dumb (on a body) and I like the s4 bumper, beauty is in the eye of the beholder

5. once again I didnt paint the car, nor did I pay for labo and considering how it looks now its a hellova alot better when it did before.

6. the motor is stuck, i havent had time this weekend to fix it

7. it was a deal I got cause my old hood like I said above had a huge whole cut in it by the last guy.

8. its 10 degrees outside, i'll clean it tommorow.

9. I have 5 lug brakes and parts and everything ready to go in my garage, I just need to wait before I can buy wheels and tires, haven't decided yet. I didnt buy 4 lug wheels, they came on the car with brigtestone potenzas, which are the good A/S ones. the tires dont suck, they are kickass in rain actually

10. you and I know ours cars are never finished

I like the hood a lot but I am unsure I would use it
It prob looks better in person

in the summer

gotta wait till the semester is over

I'm thinking these:

http://www.aspecproducts.com/all_pro.../XT7sizing.jpg
17x9 +17 all around

Projects are fun, but when your on a small budget it will go on for many years.

oh forgot to mention the fact that I only paid for parts, labor was free on this paintjob, I knew the guy who did it.

although he kinda fucked up the side moldings, cant tell in the picture but all aren't on there well.

I got some 15" lancer OZ wheels I have on during the last summer the phone dials were winter rims when I had shitty paint.

I haven't quite picked out my 5 lug wheels yet but I want them to be like a deep bronze something with like 5 spoke or so or mesh.

we'll see how the budget allows.

I just didnt think that the car would look good with that wing in white.

it will look alot better when the 4 pistons are painted black and the MAZDA logo on it painted white.

oh and the window tint, which I should have done in 2 weeks ish.

22% visible on the hatch and 35% on the doors.

and somewhere in between this it will have a 1.5 inch drop so it wont look like a 4x4, its just on stock springs on tokico blues.
