base coat clear coat with a flatner in the clear. all the major paint companies have it ....PPG, Dupont and so on.

you can also go to lowes or wal-mart, buy a gallon of Rustoleum flat black, and a gallon of mineral spirits

mix it untill its a little thicker than water, then spray with a gun and it turns out wonderfuly

spray paint ftw...just take your time with prep and it will look good, and use a high grit sandpaper like 220 is what i used i believe

ok, so as for a clear coat... after i spray on 4 or 5 coats of the satin black, what do i seal it with? im trying to stay away from glossy, but i still wanna clear coat it to help protect the paint... do they make non-glossy clear coat??

and when using a spray gun and air compressor, what ratio of paint to thinner do i use so it will coat evenly??
