I think the Rx-7 is just fast..

That FD holds the record for the fastest 1/4 mile on stock twins. Its been that way for a few years too, so that car is no slouch!

 

The viper had a bad driver. The slower 2nd gen vipers will run 11.7 stock with a good driver. But that is deffinatly a nice FD. I would rock out either of those cars.

So that FD is on stock twins? Thats pretty sweet.

It looked like the FD raped the viper out of the hole. Probably cause he can't get traction if he tries to launch it on those tires. Once he was rolling he caught up to the FD pretty fast.

 

I though people ran 10s with stock turbos? Anyway, I love Vipers but, they really aren't that fast. I almost bought one, until I test drove it, so I bought a 95 SUPRA instead. Ending up with a FD though, again.

Look up JD's rx7 and you will see the rest he hits 10's. Nice looking Rx7 and very fast.

 

Exactly *one* car that I'm aware of has run 10s on stock twins, which is the car in this video, JD's white car. He ran a 10.98, no one else has accomplished the feat that I'm aware of.

Yeah i was kinda shocked that it kept up to a Hennessey Viper.

Ok, so that's three. My point is that 'running 10s on stock twins' is not something easily accomplished.....

The FD didnt keep up, he basically had a better launch than the viper in which the viper was spinning tires all through 2nd gear. Notice how the viper catches up and passes after the 1/8th.

And to the person who said vipers are slow, you must not know about the fastest 6spd car which is a viper. And IIRC supra is second.

Hahaha, some dude saying his car was making a owl noise ( moo noise from airpump.) it was in a thread awhile back.

nice car good run...the viper driver did seem a bit bad those cars are usually faster but the rx does run 10s so

 

a couiple mph in trap speed doesnt make the viper much faster. its a hair faster.
